Away for 2 nights with my mum. She booked accomodation and, as always, hasn't booked enough beds so we're sharing a double. It's hot here and we're both wearing short cotton nighties. I've got pants on because we're sharing a bed. Just asked her to do the same and she refused, told me her nighty covered her. I said it doesn't and that's how I know she's not wearing any knickers. She told me to stop being bossy and then said I'm good at always spoiling nice things. Who was unreasonable?

The issue is that it wasnt covered. She was lying in bed on top of the covers with a very short nighty/long top not covering her.

That is seriously grim

Oh MY, This has made me laugh. A daughter and her Mother,who has no knickers on. She probably had no knickers on the night you were conceived..and she might sleep without knickers on all the time..It's just her style. It's the least,and silliest thing to get up tight about, enjoy your holiday.!

You are both adults in a warm climate and want to be comfortable, what is the real problem? Coz it shouldn't be no pants between mother / daughter

YANBU, OP. Sounds like a grim situation and it sounds like she’s totally unreasonable. Can I ask, not judging, but why did you go away with her in the first place if you have a rocky relationship?

It s hot here at the moment but i m wearing pyjama shorts and t shirt. I m not going to wander around the house where dc can see all the gross bits.

I'd say no knickers is grim for sharing a bed. But seeing as it's you mum I think you should just forget it - stay where you are on the settee and go to sleep.

I loved my DM, but i would not have been comfortable seeing her genitals, especially not in the same bed pantsless! It's just good manners she should've had them on without being asked, sharing a bed with someone elses bodily fluids is just grim.

How old are you both....?? I cant imagine any mother sharing a bed with her daughter wearing a "nightie" that was short enough that it didnt cover her up adequately. Did her "nightie" have a slogan on it or just a pair of red lips.....

I loved my mum so much (sadly gone) but if we were in that situation I can only imagine the conversation,
“If your fan so much as touches my effing leg you are on the sofa” (that would be her)
Seriously, you do not book a double with your mum, but if it happens you put pillows between you and at least you can fart knowing you are with someone who loves you
