www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7266611/Woman-labour-forced-pay-30-taxi-driver-waters-broke-car.html

A billion apologies that it’s a Daily Fail article, but I saw this on my Facebook this morning and was really taken aback by the behaviour of the driver Shock
The woman isn’t disputing that she was liable for the cleaning fee - if my waters had broken in a taxi, I’d expect to pay the cleaning cost too. But the fact that her baby’s head was practically out we she arrived at the hospital, and this man decided to stand there and shout at her about the mess in the taxi rather than help her has me completely jaw-to-the-floor Shock
Who does that?!!!
What does her think that is female folk have some sort of control over breaking waters or our foetal ejection reflex?! That we can magically hold those things in like a wee? Hmm

He's a man who thinks entirely of himself and that he can order the world as he wishes by shouting loudly. Many people do this, not pleasant or civilised but unsurprising.

HellYeah90s · 20/07/2019 08:17

Thats fucking awful.

My dad was a taxi driver for many years (and part owned a cab firm), he would have loved to have a baby born in his cab Grin He would have been furious if one of his drivers asked to be paid by a mother in labour, never mind making a song and dance about the mess.

Much better than the drunken idiots he took home.

Gets even worse - apparently he was still ranting and raving as she gave birth in the entrance of the hospital, and waited, expecting her to come out to clean up the car Hmm

The comments on that story are full of people saying ‘quite right too, pay your way lady’ etc. Unsurprising as Daily Mail but...

...she was giving birth?

IntoValhalla · 20/07/2019 08:46

Weirdwonders The comments are disgusting. Like you say, unsurprising really for the Daily Fail Hmm

Obviously the driver is a dickhead but I'm always curious to know when in the past everyone was so kind, respectful and sensible as posters always seem to think. The world has always been full of arses.

Soubriquet · 20/07/2019 08:53

That is very unreasonable

A woman is at her most vulnerable when she’s giving birth

What on Earth goes through his head to think “I will shout at her until I get my own way!”

Disgusting man
