Having a discussion with a couple of my work colleagues about single mothers who have friends with benefits.
Is it wrong to get rid of your children for the night so your “fuck buddy” can come over for the night or not.
GO.....

Funny because I was having a discussion with a couple of my work colleagues about people who sign up to MN just to ask leading questions which then seem to be lifted by newspapers. Is it wrong to do this?

GO......

Well for the article you’re clearly writing, define “getting rid of your children for the night”.

I mean, do you mean their planned contact with their other parent?

dowopthatthing · 19/07/2019 08:51

🙈 I’m reallg not from the daily fail. I’ve actually nc for this, I’m just curious as I have a “date” tonight and I’m getting told I’m wrong to have my children go elsewhere. That’s all no hidden agenda promise xx

If you’re genuine then no, of course you’re not wrong providing you’re taking steps to protect your safety.

Redcrayons · 19/07/2019 09:21

Getting rid of the kids? Do you mean giving them a tenner and telling them to go to the chippy and sleep in the park?

ComtesseDeSpair · 19/07/2019 09:26

What about married mothers with FwBs, out of interest? Are there different rules? ‘Cos I’m going out partying with my girlfriend later and then we’ll head back to hers to play after, all whilst her husband shoves off with their kid to visit family so we have peace. Is there a special circle of hell reserved for us? I must know.

NoBaggyPants · 19/07/2019 09:31

Get rid of them for the night? Hell no...

I just lock 'em in the cupboard and off we go...

(Disclaimer: this has never happened in real life.)

BitchQueen90 · 19/07/2019 09:37

Well it's better than having them over while the kids are in the house.

I had a fwb and he came over when my DS was at his dad's. Grin

ComtesseDeSpair · 19/07/2019 09:44

@dowopthatthing - I have three pieces of advice for you:

  1. Don’t share details of your personal life with your colleagues unless you really give no craps what they might think about it.
  1. Don’t do anything in life which gives you a sense of wrongness or unease. Either work on why you think you should feel wrong or uneasy about it, or stop doing it.
  1. When starting a conversation or online thread, context right up is your friend.
dowopthatthing · 19/07/2019 09:49

I don’t think its wrong? I mean I’ve been single 3 years and my little boy is staying at my mums for the night.
Just a bit taken a back with the response I got that I was doing something “wrong” by having a guy over. I’ve never done it before and he’s not a stranger yet somehow I feel a bit dirty 😂

Go where? I’m actually go-ing to Spain soon. The kids can’t wait!

Divebar · 19/07/2019 10:20

Oh you can’t win OP.... you’re a woman and obviously any kind of libido is a no no.... and having a FWB makes you a slutty woman in the eyes of a great many people. Why do you care ? It’s bullshit - have a great night and stock up on some cystitis medication while you have a chance. Smile

Oh, whoops, mixed up some threads there, but you get the gist!

twattymctwatterson · 19/07/2019 11:38

Yeah I'm sure this thread was started for entirely innocent reasons.

SINGLE MOTHERS just like single fathers are entitled to a life away from their children. They are entitled to a romantic or indeed just a sex life. The end.
