To think it's the law that it rains once the school holidays arrive?

So not officially school holidays till Tuesday but has been lovely till today...near end of term and now rain.
I finished my alevels 22 years ago...the day i finished it started raining! Obviously glorious sunshine prevailed throughout revision time!

We’ve been on holiday for 3 weeks. No rain until today.

Justkeeprollingalong · 19/07/2019 08:48

Don't worry it's only raining because my window cleaner is due today 🤦🏻‍♀️

We need the rain after the inevitable boiling hot hay fever inducing exam season.

Aren’t they predicting that the current rain is a prelude to a mini heatwave coming next week tho?
Not that I pay much attention to the weather forecast... invariably it is wrong!

Witchend · 19/07/2019 09:34

I told the children earlier in the week that the rain would start 12noon today and it was due to rain solidly for 6 weeks. They said "typical" Grin

It's a given isn't it? HmmAngry

We are at the end of week one and it's been glorious. Beach in Sunday and Monday, go ape Tuesday, zoo Wednesday and bike ride yesterday. Today is the first dull day and forecast is nice next week. Much preferring it to last year when it was absolutely boiling though!

Predicting 32°c here in Manchester next week and a couple of drizzly days. I am glad my kids won't be sweltering in the classroom but dreading my own commute on boiling hot trains that will be busier than ever with families on trips out. I always avoid trains between 4 and 6.30pm with kids as it is 30 minutes of misery for everyone.
