I can’t stop saying ‘Homo Heidelbergensis’

Does anyone else get random words or phrases stuck in their heads??

I get earworms every morning upon waking, a different sing every day sticks in my head, even ocassionally it's one I hate (like today's is Pink - Can I Pretend? Ugh!).

I sometimes get a word ear worm, keep popping into my head. Usually random and odd. Not daily though like the songs.

Oh, I thought you were meaning when you know a word and go to use it, but it disappears somewhere between brain and mouth.

The other day I was telling DH about a place is Scotland. Brain fart, word missing. I said it’s a word about 8 letters and it starts with a vowel, and somewhere in it is a word for a body of water. He had no idea. It wouldn’t come. 3 hours later I sit up in bed and go “Ullapool!”

FFS! Why can’t my brain just give me the word instead of playing bloody 20 questions?

Oh and, ditto cycleofmisery. Every day the mental jukebox serves up another treat, apropos of nothing at all.

Ethylene diamene tetraacetic acid. I wish i was joking it is what EDTA stands for...it was mentioned in chemistry class over 15 years ago, and the teachers exact words were "don't worry, you don't have to remember that". It's the only bloody thing I still remember from chemistry!!

Clearly - because it's use has increased to such an extent (in the News, R4, etc) - I hear it and scream "clearly" because "clearly" the word annoys me so much I don't give a rat's arse because CLEARLY I don't see what you are try to patronizingly trying to say.

@Fujexa in my first job, we made a product that used Ethylene Diamene Tetraacetic acid. I know more about the use of EDTA then I’ll ever admit to. It warmed my heart to see it written on Mumsnet, sorry random nerd moment 🤓

This happens when I have a migraine coming - it's a symptom of the auras I get.
