Very faint line on pregnancy test?

beepjenni · 16/07/2019 19:46

Hi mumsnet Smile I took a cheap Poundland pregnancy test this morning as I had (still have!) a feeling I was pregnant but because I wasn't completely sure I wanted to save my money. I've bought a more expensive test alongside after this faint line to do in a few days to verify which leads to my question. There's a very faint line on the pregnancy test (picture linked) and I'd like a second opinion. The speculation is high and I don't want to do the second more expensive test too soon! Is this very faint line visible to you? I hope it's visible enough on the photo to be seen. I could be clutching at straws.

Very faint line on pregnancy test?

I’ve always used those clear and simple tests, either the ones you’ve got that you pee straight on or the 3 pack of dip tests. Always given me a positive from 9dpo when I’ve been pregnant, and trust me I’ve done hundreds in my time Blush so if your period is late it’s definitely not to early to test again using one of those,at any time of the day. Good luck

Sevo7 · 16/07/2019 22:31

I will just add though your Poundland test looks flooded which can cause an evap I’ve found but I don’t rate them much anyway, you should get a clear answer with your other test but it might be worth collecting your urine in a pot and then dipping the test so that you don’t flood it or splash the results window.

Gin and thehop, I've been on my 6am commute this morning so will go tomorrow or Friday when I leave the house later Grin excited!

Sevo7 thank you for your advice Smile yes I thought it might have flooded too. I can still spot a second very faint pink line which is making me think there's a chance it could have been a positive. Thank you!

MRex thank you Smile I just peed on the Poundland stick which is maybe how it flooded? I'll pee in a cup with this one!

TAKE ANOTHER TEST!!!!!! 😁

Sevo7 · 17/07/2019 08:36

I don’t know how you can hold on so long,I would of peed on about 10 tests by now Blush In my defence I do only use the really cheap ones and then once I’m sure I’ve got a line I then waste loads more money on clearblue digitals! Good job I’m not having any more children I dread to think the money I’ve spent on tests over the years Confused Good luck and post your result here

crispysausagerolls · 17/07/2019 08:57

Sevo7

Same!!!

jaseyraex · 17/07/2019 09:01

Ah good luck OP! I used poundland tests and just peed on them too, they all flooded (all 12 of them over 3 days Grin) but the test line was very prominent on them all. So perhaps just a bit early for you hence the faint line. You've got the patience of a saint!

Sexnotgender · 17/07/2019 09:03

I can see a line but the test itself looks weird.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 17/07/2019 09:11

As others have said if you are already late a test will show up - if you havent done one this morning and no sign of your period I would do it tomorrow morning.
Hope it's the result you want!

MRex · 17/07/2019 10:33

WHERE IS THE NEW STICK FOR US TO LOOK AT?

You may have over-estimated our patience OP. Get peeing.

chezbot · 17/07/2019 10:58

Hi OP. Am in exactly the same boat. Got a very faint positive at the weekend and have been retesting every 48 hours since. Not RTFT yet but had to jump in.

flower8169 · 17/07/2019 11:35

beepjenni · 17/07/2019 12:24

I'm at work! Grin I'll try tomorrow morning! the speculation is high with me too Grin I'm just so cautious with money I don't want to waste my good test before my levels should have risen! Wink

NeverGotMyPuppy thank you! Smile I think I'll go ahead with the first response test tomorrow morning. I just want to give myself the best chance of getting a clearer line Smile

beepjenni · 17/07/2019 12:32

Sexnotgender I thought the test looked strange too. Definitely flooded. But I can see the faint pink second line as well Smile

OP posts:
beepjenni · 17/07/2019 12:33

Jaseyraex i think it's a little early on too! I'm glad to hear they worked for you despite the flooding! Smile

OP posts:
beepjenni · 17/07/2019 12:34

Sevo7 hahahaha! Do you think the clearblues were worth it for the reassurance? Thank you so much!

chezbot · 17/07/2019 14:07

Thankyou @beepjenni over the moon but darent get my hopes up. Will be thinking of you. My test regime was £1 land x2 faint positive, then 2 first response which were darker.

amusedbush · 17/07/2019 14:13

I do see a very faint second pink line but I also see two additional brownish lines.

I hope you get the result you want tomorrow/Friday!
