To have a phobia of public toilets?

Light-hearted so... Yeah Grin

Maybe I'm a little dramatic because I'm pregnant but the thought of a public toilet makes me want to vomit. Is this normal?

When I was younger I remember public toilets at school being filled horrifically and not flushed... I get nervous and I will hold it until I get home instead of having to face it.

I'm in a GP surgery and someone didn't close the door all the way when they went to take a wee and now I can't stop feeling sick.

No that's definitely not normal.

I would talk to someone about how you feel, one day you won't have a choice but to use one.

I have used them if I had no choice but only as a last resort otherwise I will wait if I can.

You can ask a policeman to wee in his helmet if you're pregnant, maybe try that instead

Vibiano · 16/07/2019 09:29

@Shoxfordian
Wtf? Is that a thing?
Grin

I have to be extremely desperate to use a public toilet. Not a phobia but they generally aren't nice places with the dodgy flushes, queues, and general ambience. Grin

i have that feeling, too, gingerbreadsprinkle.

Shoxfordian · 16/07/2019 11:41

Following some research on google, its sadly a myth @Vibiano

The law commission seemed to think the police might use their discretion but I'm not sure that extends to offering a helmet...

Vibiano · 16/07/2019 11:50
Grin Probably ok if the force in your area still has the old style custodian hats. More capacity than the flat style now in vogue.
Shoxfordian · 16/07/2019 18:03

Grin Indeed
You could even get a poo in the old style hats
Not that you should...

maddiemookins16mum · 16/07/2019 18:11

I don’t like them but needs must. However, I NEVER go in any other toilet apart from an end one (if they are the stalls type).

The trick is finding all the nice, lesser known, ones and using them when you are in your local city. And always carry a few napkins to line the toilet seat. Yep...germaphobe here too.
