A few months ago, I posted asking for advice regarding a congenital abnormality my unborn son had been diagnosed with. At the time we were told that it was either going to be incompatible with life, or require surgery to remove when he was born. Condition is called CPAM, which is essentially large cysts forming instead of healthy lung tissue.
We were given the option to terminate but told that he had a very good chance of survival so didn’t. We’ve had regular monitoring and at our most recent appointment, his cyst is now smaller than 1cm in size. In fact it has shrank so dramatically they don’t even think he will be any different to another newborn and that surgery may be optional.
I’m 3 weeks away from giving birth, and feel like this has been the most stressful period of my life! Cannot wait to have him here now!
