Sooo currently in the Zoo, being the shit mum on her phone with a coffee whilst DS is playing on the park.
Not really paying completely attention, odd glance over, quite frankly enjoying not being asked the 18000 question of the day.

Giggling at the hoards of performance parents and AIBU in thinking there is no way that they speak to their precious children in that way at home.

So, what are the funniest and most awkward performance parenting moments you have experienced??

( Cue " You are amazing, absolutely amazing. You climbed that rope so well." The monkeys at the other end of the zoo will be getting a complex soon. )

You know you’re going to get a million replies saying ‘there’s no such thing as performance parenting, it’s perfectly normal to teach and praise children’s every move in your best public speaking voice!’

Watching child tip toys apart in a baby group to the dad exclaiming “he’s definitely going to be an engineer when he grows up, he’s got an engineers mind, he has to take everything apart” Hmm

Not performance parenting, but a funny incident at a zoo.

A dad picked up his small daughter and stood her on the top of a fence overlooking some hyenas about 10 foot below. I was just thinking 'that's bit dangerous' when the little girl piped up: 'Daddy, I'm not allowed to stand up here." I mentally applauded her for having more sense than her parent!
