Totally superficial I know but I think she looks absolutely fantastic.

How many people here would start a thread talking about how unhealthy this lady is?
Rich, affluent and in the public eye - yet I've not seen anything about her.

Just to remind people - a size 12 has padding.

I know this, because I am a size 12, and I have a layer of padding all over me. Kate clearly does not have any padding in that photo of her modelling at uni.

I am 1.77 metres tall to her 1.75, so even though I am tall, I still have a layer of insulation at a size 12. If you put me in that sheer dress, I would look very different! Grin

She has always been slender, and if she has lost some weight since uni (understandable), it's nowhere near the vast amounts people try to make out it is.

I think Kate has a remarkable figure - tall, slender, narrow waist, catwalk-worthy legs, straight shoulders. So when I say it's not often I see anyone with her figure - it's for all of these reasons.

Not just because she's a size 6 - which is why many people on here are trying to claim they're just like her. Grin As she's arguably smaller than a size 6 for a start - and it's really not just her dress size - I do think people are flattering themselves.

SemperIdem · 15/07/2019 20:09

@HolyFuckballsBatman I started the thread because I think Kate looks fantastic and, after a long period of being very down, feel motivated to look after myself better. I acknowledged some pages back that I made a mistake in naming her rather than referring to “very toned, healthy women”. It wasn’t started to denigrate her or other slim women.

I am a slim woman, but not physically at my best in terms of exercise and diet.

As it goes, I think Tess H is an appalling role model and flies in the face of what “body acceptance” should be.

I agree to a point. I personally envy Kate’s figure, and I think it’s perfect, but I don’t see her as being dramatically thin or anything else. She’s certainly more athletic and more toned than me, for example, but I am not “SO” far away that I think it’s as laughable as others on this thread find it that people might have a similar size or weight to her. For example I had coffee with a friend this morning who is a size smaller than me/certainly smaller than Kate! (Photos of various body parts of mine so you can see what i mean).

(And the friend of mine is perfectly healthy and not “too thin” at all!!!)

feelingverylazytoday · 15/07/2019 20:23

80% of women in this country overweight
Think it's 66% actually, but carry on.

Weaponsgradeplum · 15/07/2019 20:23

Agree re Tess H. That photo of Kate at Wimbledon is just stunning, she's really beautiful.

zonkin · 15/07/2019 20:24

Agree with @OooErMissus and @RedDogsBeg. She looks slim and healthy.

The person in the picture that @HolyFuckballsBatman posted is a terrible example of body acceptance. Accepting/celebrating morbid obesity is not a great attitude.

Weaponsgradeplum · 15/07/2019 20:24

crispy you're stunning, really beautiful xx

PurpleDaisies · 15/07/2019 20:25

How many people here would start a thread talking about how unhealthy this lady is?

Those threads do come around regularly.

zonkin · 15/07/2019 20:27

66% of overweight women is hardly something to be proud of

Benjispruce · 15/07/2019 20:27

She had a small waist but narrow hips too so quite androgynous. I prefer a more hourglass shape personally and wouldn’t want Kate’s shape. Her face, yes absolutely!

crispysausagerolls · 15/07/2019 20:30

Sorry, you are right! For some reason I recall having googled it recently and it being 82% but I see that I am wrong. Still, 66% is very high...

weaponsgradeplum

Thank you - very much appreciated.

I follow Vogue Williams on IG (Pippa's SIL) as she had a baby the same time as me and her figure is exactly like Kates. She often posts what she eats and her exercise regime (personal trainer/resistance training 4x a week, also worked with Louise Parker of the Louise Parker method when pregnant) and I imagine Kate does something similar to look the same.

I am a similar height to them and have a BMI of 19.3 (post baby) before my wedding I went low carb, high protein and did lose 10lbs but it was hard to lose weight when you are a normal bmi. I couldn't be bothered to maintain it post wedding but fair play to them they do look athletic and they clearly work at it.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 15/07/2019 20:49

Body shaming is unacceptable. Regardless of size.

I suspect some of it with Kate is genes because mum and sister are similar. But of course, some of us could achieve a similar body, with a lot of hard work.

HolyFuckballsBatman · 15/07/2019 20:57

@SemperIdem I wasn't talking about you personally OP.
Just the people who have piled on with the bitchy comments of how slim people must eat nothing, aren't realistic, are childlike, look like famine victims, must be depriving themselves, are unhealthy..

Tess H is celebrated for being morbidly obese. Yet she is incredibly unhealthy - KM has a beautiful figure and is stunning to boot, yet she's slim and that immediately means all of the above.

Completely agree with you!

HolyFuckballsBatman · 15/07/2019 21:00

I've been trying to find a picture of me that's not identifiable and this is the best I've got Grin
But just to prove my point.

formerbabe · 15/07/2019 21:16

But just to prove my point

That....

HolyFuckballsBatman · 15/07/2019 21:20

That it is completely realistic and normal to be her size to the PP who've said it's 'amazing' how many people come out and say they've the exact same body shape when they've never seen someone that slim.

@formerbabe what is your gripe with being slim?

Amibeingdaft81 · 15/07/2019 21:20

@crispysausagerolls

I agree with you entirely

What is your weight and height?

SerenDippitty · 15/07/2019 21:23

Tess H is celebrated for being morbidly obese.

She's not. She's celebrated for refusing to hide herself away despite being morbidly obese.

formerbabe · 15/07/2019 21:26

@formerbabe what is your gripe with being slim?

Zilch.

I just think it's interesting to put it politely how many posters think they are like Kate.

I also find it strange how many posters say they regularly see women who are like Kate walking round the streets.

I don't see these things.

HolyFuckballsBatman · 15/07/2019 21:27

If you look at the comments regarding her photos you'll see

'It's nice to see a real, womanly shape as a model'
'Much better than skin and bone of such and such a supermodel'
'An excellent role model'
'Men prefer such and such (comment about being larger) over skin and bone'
And one of my personal favourites
'Only dogs like bones'

That's nothing to do with her not hiding away. That's to do with her weight entirely.

HolyFuckballsBatman · 15/07/2019 21:30

And yet there's 3 of us (at least, only going by those who've posted pictures) on this thread alone...

Are you honestly saying that you've not seen a slim woman walking down the street before? Or is it just that you've been taking no notice? Which is more likely..

Loopytiles · 15/07/2019 21:33

This isn’t about people not recognising “slim” anymore.

“Slim” is - roughly - BMI of 20 or a couple over. Posters’ pics are examples.

Kate and most other women in the public will have BMI below 20.
