Hi my husband is away on business and missed his flight. He whatspped me a photo of his company credit card details to enable me to pay for a new flight and I emailed it to myself. I obviously want to delete it my email has recently been hacked do I need to do anything to ensure that its safe?

If you're using an email provider like Gmail, yahoo mail, Hotmail or the like you're pretty much at the mercy of the provider, as you have no access to the email data held on their servers, only to what they show you on the client side.

Generally speaking though you have very little to worry about. Delete the email, empty the trash, and that's about as much as you can do. Any hacker would have to compromise the providers back end, which is a lot harder than hacking your username/password.

If you're worried about your security, choose a strong, unique password and enable 2 factor authentication wherever possible.
