FIL......

My fil died 16 years ago. My ds has just turned 18 and now has control of a small inheritance. He has bought a gigantic synthesiser. AIBU to think fil should have realised this might happen and been more considerate to his son and his partner?

Nope, refusing to believe this is real.

Whisky2014 · 12/07/2019 23:00

What? Bert, you been on the sauce?

Chune · 12/07/2019 23:01

Eh?

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 12/07/2019 23:01

What would be more considerate?

BertrandRussell · 12/07/2019 23:03

Well, some of it’s real!

Me being unable to sleep because of the new toy is definitely real! Grin

Ah sorry, is this a jokey thread- take it your ears are taking a bashing?

justasking111 · 12/07/2019 23:04

Can he use headphones with it.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 12/07/2019 23:05

Tell him he can only use it with headphones in.

Chune · 12/07/2019 23:06

To be fair, your FIL probably presumed it would be spent on booze, drugs and bad, bad women.

BertrandRussell · 12/07/2019 23:09

I instituted a no headphones before midnight rule because I was worried about his hearing. I think the time has come to renegotiate. He’s 18 now- his hearing is no longer my responsibility.

DS bought a motorbike with his 🙄
The noise and smell annoy me and the constant talk of facts and figures! Mind you, he was the same with Pokemon cards.

Same shit, different gravy 😔

Sn0tnose · 12/07/2019 23:10

Maybe he did realise and thought it would be a bit of a giggle 😉

BertrandRussell · 12/07/2019 23:14

He has also bought another pair of trainers which seem to me identical to his other trainers and taken his girlfriend out for a day in London including a posh lunch. And bought a present for his sister. I think his grandad would be delighted. But there is still another 45 minutes to headphone time.....

'He has bought a gigantic synthesiser.'

Sounds like a modern day Howard Jones.

Fantastic

FadedRed · 12/07/2019 23:17

Could you get yourself some headphones?
Do you live in the middle of a large remote area? If not, it shouldn’t be long before your neighbours get a noise nuisance injunction against him.

BertrandRussell · 12/07/2019 23:39

Unfortunately we are very rural....Fil would, I am sure, be delighted. He bought dd a massive Barbie horse and carriage. ......

@chine 😄

He is twinned with at least one of mine, I swear.

Trickyteens · 12/07/2019 23:46

My 18 year old is camping in a field tonight, with god knows how many others.

BertrandRussell · 12/07/2019 23:49

“To be fair, your FIL probably presumed it would be spent on booze, drugs and bad, bad women.”

Possibly. It does make me wonder what he was thinking while he was writing his will- DS was an enchanting curly headed toddler at the time. I do hope he was planning for funding mayhem!

I have just lifted all headphone restrictions. His hearing- his problem! !!
