To ask for extra time at the weekend?!

I work 4 days a week, 2 from home (yes I'm lucky, I know), and the other two I commute into London which is about 2 hours each way. I look after DS (17 months) on the other day.

Most weeks I am soooo tired by Friday evening and think, just an extra evening off without my son to recover before the weekend would be LOVELY!

Anyone else?! BlushConfused

Can you make Friday your day off?

MissB83 · 12/07/2019 18:35

No, it's already a popular day off so I agreed Wednesday.

Ask who for extra time ?
I'm confused

Mascarponeandwine · 12/07/2019 18:37

Sorry if I’m being dim but I don’t get it. Don’t you have Friday evening off when your son goes to bed?

Loopytiles · 12/07/2019 18:38

Evening off from work, or parenting? If the latter, your DP could cover it and vice versa?

MissB83 · 12/07/2019 18:39

Evening off from everything!

I get home at 6/7pm on a Friday night and think oh yes time to rest... ah, no.

I love my son but he ain't restful.

No DP. Single parent. My mum looks after my son on office days until I get home.

Sleeping is a bit unpredictable! Sometimes he isn't down until 8/9 pm. He's not the best sleeper.

Doesn’t he visit with his father then ever? Confused

MissB83 · 12/07/2019 18:45

No, his father isn't interested.

Who are you asking??

YANBU to wish you had more time to yourself, but that's just not possible with a baby/toddler.

As they get older you'll have more time in the evenings to unwind but for now not so much!

MissB83 · 12/07/2019 19:04

It is only a semi serious post.

I just wouldn't mind half an hour in a flotation tank or doing a restorative yoga class before heading into the weekend!!! And then back to Monday. It's sort of frustrating when you only ever feel 80-90% exhausted. I am hoping it will improve.

@MissB83

You're not alone Thanks

It does get better. I'm sure that's no help now though!
