Sons first birthday

I have just been told by OH that he hasn't booked time off work for our sons first birthday party. He has booked the actual day off (tuesday) but is working on the weekends each side. It's now too late to book off as others have already.

Aibu to be annoyed about this? I've book time off work on the weekend and told him I had months ago as we'd have to have our little family party on a Saturday so everyone can make it.

He thinks I'm being unreasonable. I just think as it's his first birthday it's a special one. His suggestion is we have a little do after he finishes work at 5 but as it currently stands our boy has dinner at 5 and then bed by 6.30-7 (and that last hour he is a grumpy little fella!)
