I felt a large spot on my back in May. Scratched at it- it was really sore. It kept scabbing over as it was on my bra line and I kept picking it because I'm dreadful.

It felt dry and crusty today so I picked and a scab with a root/plug came off. It's killing me I can't examine the spot closely! The plug is hard. What the hell?

Oooh (rubs hands) no idea what it is, but have I have some questions:

1. What does the underside of it look like?
2. Is it crumbly?
3. Is the area sore?
4. Can you get someone else to have a look at your back and see what it's left behind?

Could it be a wart or mole?

Looks like a black head attached to the scab to me.

I get them on my back (I dream of paying someone good money to de-blackhead my back!) and they can be itchy and irritating.

That is the underside- you can see the little white bit sticking up! The top was just a normal scab. Not crumbly. A bit sore but I have been picking/rubbing it for months 😬

I don't have anyone to look right now but from the mirror it just looks like a picked scab. No big hole with lots to squeeze out 😔

I get sore spots like that where my bra rubs but I’d get it looked at by a doctor just in case as my sore patches also match the description of some skin issues you’d want treated (according to my GP). Could just be a sore bit/spot that isn’t healing because it’s being rubbed by your bra though. Perhaps put a very cushioned plaster over it for a bit? See if it improves.

Looks like something I've seen that was precancerous. Perhaps you should have the area checked, just in case.

I know this is many years old post at this point but I came across it and I do see that no one ever gave an actual answer, so I’m going to go ahead and do that in case it helps someone in the future. Parasites. Those are tiny tiny worms underneath that you’re seeing. It’s only this one specific kind that does and looks like this, so it’s unmistakable to anyone who has ever dealt with them before. If you see one of these, get on anti parasitical medication immediately because these things are nightmare to deal with and it only gets worse without treatment.
