Whispering

People whispering REALLY wind me up! Especially in a work environment and especially if it's 'huddled up gossipy' whispering. Part of me thinks it really rude, part of me hates to sounds of all the breathy chat (ew) and part of me just wants them to be a bit louder so I can hear!
AIBU?! 😉

Yeah hate that too! It’s rude.. and just gives the impression they must be talking about someone in the office so that irritates me too.. if you want to gossip leave the office.

Yep it’s rude and childish.

Whispering is so old school - use a tablet type into notes, delete the comment - even luddites like me know this is the way forward Grin

TheGrapefulDread · 10/07/2019 13:11

I know grown women who text each other to bitch about the other people present - gets on my last nipple end - grow up and turn off your sound alerts while you are at it, idiots.

Sing over to them "Secrets, secrets aren't fun. Unless they're shared with everyone" :)

PapayaCoconut · 10/07/2019 13:13

I agree, it's such an utterly infuriating sound and gives me flashbacks of being teased by the 'mean girls' of my school days!

On the other hand, I used to have a colleague who would 'mouth' things at me during meetings, expecting me to lip-read! That's not a common skill in the general population afaik...

SerenDippitty · 10/07/2019 13:18

Yes rude. Go into a meeting room or something if you have something work related and confidential today. If it's just gossip keep it until after work.
