To want an alarm fitted on scaffolding at a rented property

My landlord is lovely. They are having some work done to the house I rent from them and the work requires scaffolding, which will be up for over a week. I'm a single mum with 3 kids and I have asked for the scaffolding to be alarmed. Apparently that costs a few hundred quid - Am I unreasonable to insist upon it? I don't sleep well at best of times (garden backs into alleyway) but should I just not be so anxious??

Yabu. The same people who scale scaffolding are the same people who break into your ground floor. Lock your windows.

You have a legal right to quiet enjoyment of your home. So I'd say they are to either fit the alarm or wait for you to move out to complete the works as a non alarmed scaffolding would be against your quiet enjoyment.
