Sorry I've posted this here but I need as much advice or experiences as possible tbh.
I'm 39 and I get period like pains and feel hormonal for 3 out of the 4 weeks in my cycle and it's really getting down.I rarely feel normal physically due to this.Im on Yasmin contraceptive and have been since ds was born 5 years ago.Is it all in my head? Could it be the contraception? My age? I have a dr appointment booked but just wondered if this sounds common.t.i.a

i had similar but not the hormonal aspect - just the period pains. Dr thought it was endometriosis and I've had a mirena coil inserted which has massively helped.

I'm 35 and after having 2 children, felt very similar. Also had a few other symptoms in addition to those you mention. Was referred by my GP to a gynaecologist with suspected endometriosis. Been seeing him for 18 months, still no endo diagnosis but they have ruled out some other things. GP/Gynae may look at changing your contraception in the first instance to see if that helps! Hope you get some joy when you see the GP!
