I've been put on norethisterone to stop my crazy, constant bleeding while I wait for my 'urgent' Hysteroscopy appointment- was told around 8 weeks but heard today it's more like a 5 month wait. I was getting on with the tablets and they've been amazing at stopping the bleeding and giving me my life back. But for the past couple of weeks I've been getting horrible headaches. And my bp keeps climbing. Currently 149/96! I did try a couple of days of taking 2 instead of 3 tablets but the bleeding started again.
I have been in touch with consultants secretary and dr is reviewing my case.
Just wondering if anyone has had similar I suppose.
Thanks!

I'm not sure about the blood pressure but I didn't get on with norethisterone for other reasons. I can usually only take it for a couple of days before getting unpleasant bloating symptoms and period-like pain.

There are other options to stop the bleeding so I'd discuss these with your gp. I'm currently on tranexamic acid tablets for my bleeding but you can also try the mini pill or the coil.

Thanks for the reply!
I've been down the route of tranexamic and mefanamic too. They're planning to fit a coil after removing my fibroid/polyps in the hysteroscopy so I'm hoping that will help at that point.
The norethisterone has been the only thing that has worked to stem the flow as it were. Just frustrating that these headaches have now come.
