Someone please help me because I don't know where else to turn for help.
We moved into a new house and desperately need curtains. I ordered some curtains and a pole and bits off eBay. Everything was delivered by Royal Mail today apart from the curtain pole. I was in all day so thought it might come tomorrow. At about 3pm I get a notification off eBay to say that the curtain pole was marked as delivered. So I checked it out and it had a Hermes tracking number on there so I looked on there and it actually had a picture of the parcel left in a 'safe place'. It was left leaning against our front door!!! There is a main road and a path right outside!! No slip left through the letter box to even say it was left somewhere, nothing. The item was gone as soon as I went to check. Went all the way up and down the street and still nothing. 
Now, not only did the driver not knock but he could have at least dropped it in the garden and not leave it stood leaning against the front door right by the path. I'm fuming. It wasn't cheap and the seller isn't responding to my messages.

The seller as it's not their responsibility their driver left it in a completely not safe place. What are my rights? I don't know what to do?? Surely I should be able to get my money back for something I didn't even receive?
