AIBU to think July is far too early to be advertising Christmas stuff?

Having a flick through Instagram this morning- one of the businesses I follow have popped up a lovely picture of two children opening Christmas Eve boxes in front of a Christmas tree wearing matching festive pyjamas, saying their Christmas range is launching soon.

It’s July. Back in the day (ie the early noughties) businesses wouldn’t have wasted their time promoting this stuff until at least after Halloween.

I know every year people moan that the Christmas marketing period is getting earlier and earlier, but AIBU to think that five months before December is ridiculous whatever way you look at it?

YANBU.
I saw my Dais yesterday. She told me she started buying her Christmas presents last week! But she has always been a bit anal. She folds up her carrier bags before she puts them away. Weirdo.
I told her it's too early. She told me Christmas is 24 weeks away Hmm

I think a lot of small businesses advertising on fb and Instagram have to get pre orders in now. If they left it until after Halloween I doubt they’d cope with demand for stuff like Xmas eve boxes which are often personalised and made to order
