To tell my neighbours I can see straight into their bathroom?

My neighbours across the back built a large loft conversion. It's very modern with floor-to-ceiling windows split 2/3rds & 1/3rd. The smaller 1/3 being the new bathroom. I thought in the fullness of time that they'd install a bathroom blind, or it'd have that glass that turns opaque at the flick of a switch, but no. I can see everything. E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. shagging in the shower Shock Sunday morning crap whilst reading the newspaper HmmShock I genuinely think they believe they can't be seen. I don't deliberately set out to watch but my work desk faces their window. (I have shutters) Do I tell them?

Please tell them. When the switch to change our glass to opaque failed we only knew when DH was taking the bin out. From the inside it looked just the same.

Stick a note through their door if you don’t want the awkward chat face to face

PawsForPizza · 07/07/2019 20:38

Oh god this is my worst nightmare (me being the one seen). Can you send an anonymous note?

2toe · 07/07/2019 20:39

I agree, note through the door, they will not have realised, I would imagine they will be very embarrassed.

Bubblysqueak · 07/07/2019 20:39

Yes you must.
We have almost exactly the same problem. With our old neighbours I kept meaning to tell them but could never find the words. After about 6months I thought too much time had passed but I couldn't look them in the eye whenever we bumped into each other!
When they moved out and the new neighbours moved in after a couple of glasses of wine I knocked on the door to introduce myself and I just blurted out a warning that we could see everything!
Tell them before it's too awkward!

doasIsaynotasIdo · 07/07/2019 20:39

I'd tell them, probably by putting a note through their door. If it were my bathroom that everyone could see in to, I'd want someone to tell me!!

TheQueef · 07/07/2019 20:40

Tell them, quick.

TheQueef · 07/07/2019 20:41

If you wait it will get weird.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 07/07/2019 20:41

Can you send an anonymous note?

Extra points if you can word it as if you're a serial killer Grin

Apolloanddaphne · 07/07/2019 20:43

Absolutely tell them. They probably have no idea.

Aquamarine1029 · 07/07/2019 20:43

Of course you should tell them, and I wouldn't feel awkward at all to do so. I would appreciate being told if it were me.

Notthetoothfairy · 07/07/2019 20:45

It may be too late to avoid embarrassment. If you do, I suggest a jokey manner which suggests you didn’t see too much.

Cryalot2 · 07/07/2019 20:45

How awful.
Unless they are exhibitions let them know.
An anonymous note sounds ok.

ASplashOfOrange · 07/07/2019 20:46

I hadn't thought of a note through the door. That sounds good. I don't actually know the couple in the house, they're in the next street.

I remember when the new bed was delivered because they were jumping up & down on it... Grin

MrsGrindah · 07/07/2019 20:47

Why does the note have to be anonymous? Surely a friendly tone , signed with your first name “ at No. 6 “ etc. is fine?

HarrietSchulenberg · 07/07/2019 20:48

Yes, do tell them. My rear neighbours were the same, but sadly telling them only had the effect that they strung a towel across the window for a week or two.
The new owners are much better.

Pomegranatemolasses · 07/07/2019 20:50

Are they exhibitionists? Surely the thought must have crossed their minds that they could be seen?

Mummyshark2018 · 07/07/2019 20:50

Anonymous letter sent through the post so they don't catch you delivering.

daisyjgrey · 07/07/2019 20:51

On another note, am impressed they've mastered shagging in the shower. Personally I find it slippery and someone is always chilly.

JWrecks · 07/07/2019 20:53

I would definitely tell them.

Exactly how I would phrase it?? Well, good luck! I've got nothing.

Ilikeviognier · 07/07/2019 20:55

I had this OP. It was someone in the next street and when the guy was in the shower you could see everything.

I wrote a note to explain that this was the case and put it through his letterbox - after that a blind appeared!😁

HollowTalk · 07/07/2019 20:56

I wouldn't write an anonymous note. I'd knock on the door and tell them nicely. I'd tell them on a Saturday morning so that they've time to go and sort it out the same day.

Summertimeatthebeach · 07/07/2019 20:58

Our neighbours out back sent their dn to tell us they could see us on the loo!!
We put a blind up!!
We all laugh about it now!

Fairylea · 07/07/2019 20:59

I wouldn’t tell them. Maybe they just don’t care?

We don’t have a blind in our bathroom. We do have frosted glass and there’s no shagging going on in there, just me and my wobbly bits getting in and out the shower. I’m sure maybe the neighbours we back onto occasionally see my vague outline but I don’t really care to be honest. Guess I would feel differently if the glass was completely see through. I know my mum was horrified by us not having a blind though....!

wheelywheelynice · 07/07/2019 21:04

Can they not see you watching them? You'd think they'd have noticed by now and copped on!
