It’s up to me to decide what contraceptive I have

Had major issues in the last with combined pill now cannot take it.
Can’t have a coil due to previous surgeries and infection.

Been on cerazette happily for 18 months. Previously the pop (diff named one) didn’t seem to suit me.
Gp has been asking me to consider nexplanon and I decline each time now they’ve switched me to the other pop

I know it’s supposedly the same but for me it isn’t ???
Do I write in and beg ? I can’t go back in that one and I’m not happy as at my review the gp actually said ‘we will stick with cerazette’ so why haven’t they?
I just want the contraceptive that suits me best. It would be dangerous for me to get pregnant again and I’m stressed about this

O have a prescription for cerzette from the Dr but the pharmacy has been giving me azalia(sp?) as cerzette keeps going on short supply. (I have checked other dispensers and it is a common answer) Could the reason be that it is hard to get in the UK as well?

I’m not sure. The pharmacist just told me it’s a cost issue but I need the medication that suits me I’m going to speak to the gp im just glad I didn’t leave it till the last minute to get a repeat

I had this but with Cerelle.I just buy it online £15 for 6 months supply.
Worth it to get offered a bloody Mirena coil every time Hmm

Harp1977 · 06/07/2019 20:41

I had no issue with the switch and yes it is cheaper. Good luck with your GP. Mine is tryinv to get me to use an implant due to my age. Only issue is we think we might try for another child. Gp thinks anyone over 35 should be done with their family and on permenant idiot proof birth control😨

not to Blush

Do not go on Nexaplon - it's a brilliant contraceptive cos it turns you into a moody cow who wants no sex! Well for me anyway. Currently on Cerazette no issues. Panicking now they will make me change! Normally a cost thing. Try seeing the nurse instead of GP normally more sympathetic!

What does your prescription say? If they name Cerazette that will have to be dispensed, if it's generic then it will be what the pharmacy can get hold of with those ingredients in- if it says a different names brand then that's also what you'll get. See if the GP will name it on the prescription and explain that you don't get on with the others and explain the anxiety you have relating to pregnancy. Sometimes it's hard as it can be a cost thing, but hopefully they will listen.

Previously said cerazette now just the drug name (desogesteol I think the pharmacist said)
