So, I finally gave in and spent £££ (for me) on a new phone (a reconditioned one so no warranty etc) as my old one could no longer even run Whatsapp. It arrived last week and I ordered a protective case online - that arrived today. I got home and saw the delivery on the doorstep... and smashed my new, still unprotected, phone on the driveway as I got out of the car. AIBU to think WTF did I do in a previous life???

Yikes Sad I'd be gutted too

I wouldn't open my new phone til the case had arrived, it meant I had to wait a couple of extra days but I literally took it out of the box and straight into the case & protective glass.

Feel for you op!

Is it covered on your contents insurance? My friend dropped her new phone the day she bought it, and her insurance covered a replacement...

Sparklesocks · 06/07/2019 18:20

NooooOooOooooo!

I’m sorry Shock

Bad luck. Unless your contents insurance has a very low excess, and your phone was mega expensive, I doubt it’d be worth claiming. Your premiums would increase and you’d have to declare it for something like 5 years!

I got myself a new iPhone a few years ago, not insured or anything. I then realised that it was the most expensive thing I owned, apart from my sofa (before I had a car, my sofa was about £1200 and the phone was £550), I started having panic attacks every time I left the house!!!! I sent it back and got an old reconditioned phone. 💐💐💐to you op
