To ask for experiences using Norethisterone

Good Morning Mumsnetters.
I’m going on my first holiday abroad for years in August, and I’m due my period when I’m there.(Doom on me.)
I’ve ordered some Norethisterone to postpone it. But was wondering if I take it for Julys period, and push July’s period back by a week. Would my August period be pushed back a week too? So that I could avoid actually taking the medicine whilst I’m away.
Hoping to hear from anyone who has used it in this way, or has any experience of this please.

I use norethisterone regularly and have found that pushing your period back for a week doesn't mean it will then go back to being regular - it makes mine go a bit wiggly tbh and it usually takes a couple of months to balance out again! make sure you order a couple days extra - you need to start taking it a couple days before you're due on, it won't work if you've started even a tiny bit

When I take it works even if I have started my period
As soon as I stop taking it I try period within a day

There was quite an informative thread on this earlier in the week, if I knew how to post links (and find things on the search function 😂) I’d link it for you, maybe someone less useless than me could?

I’ve taken it once, my husband asked me never to again. I got all the period yuk without the bleed but 100 times worse, I bloated to the stage I looked pregnant, had horrific cramps and I was a snipey grumpy moo the entire long weekend. We did have a lovely time but it was overshadowed a bit by how I was feeling.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. I’ve had a look at the other thread. I guess I just take it and see how it goes.
