To not have a bloody clue what to do about this gas fire?!

We’re doing up a house with a Baxi Bermuda 401. I’m nearly 30 and have not a bloody clue what to do with it. AIBU to want to stick a radiator cover over it and pretend it doesn’t exist? I have no other ideas as we can’t afford to change the boiler and the fire/boiler are all one apparently. Does anyone have any other amazing ideas?

I say we launch and nuke them from orbit, it's the only way to be sure

@Far2go46 I would be up for this if there was any way we could afford it. Everything else in the house has cost so much and with maternity leave coming up there’s just no way we can afford it.

Whatever you do do not use the room it's in as a bedroom. We did, gas man condemned it and turned out gas off! In the middle of winter.
