Posting here for speedy traffic!
I have two nights out planned tonight, two birthdays of two good friends. One is an early eve thing, the other is later on so both are achievable.
I also have my bf coming to join me and he lives about an hours journey away and due to finish work soon then will drive directly to me.
My dilemma: I woke up this morning with hideous tummy trouble, cramping and all the rest. I’m in a lot of pain, back head and tummy and still cramping but not as intense. I’ve been to bed mid morning to try and sort myself out but to no avail.
I’m contemplating a sleep now and see how I feel on waking but first commitment is at 7pm. I don’t want bf to come all the way here for me to let him down by cancelling the big night out (he doesn’t know party 1 and has only met the birthday girl once of party 2).
I also have my kids home tomorrow morning at 10.
What would you do?
Aibu to sack it all off and stay home?

You feel like crap, you've tried to do something about it but it hasn't worked, cancel everything & everyone and go back to bed.

Topseyt · 05/07/2019 18:36

I wouldn't go.

Thank you friartuck and voters!
I have indeed sacked it all off. I thought if I’ve gone as far as creating a mumsnet poll then I should just listen to my gut and do the sensible self care thing.
I know if I went out I’d be forcing myself and a bit fakey dreaming of bed. I hate letting people down, my condition means I’m often a bit of a flake and I’m very conscious of it Sad

Being in pain & needing your bed does not count as being flakey - though if you're the sort of person who would feel guilty about letting someone down even though you were in intensive care being kept alive by machines (yes, I would!) then it's easy to feel that way.
Glad you stayed home. Hope you feel better today.

Thank you friartuck much better today and had a whole day of outdoor activities with the kids despite a ropey start. Am now eating takeaway and feeling glad I didn’t have to deal with a hangover as well!
