To go to a waterpark alone - WWYD?

My MIL is caring for 2yo DD and DD6 is in school then MIL picking her up for a play. There is a local water park that is always heaving in holidays or I have kids with me so can't do all the fun rides. I have done all my house jobs and my husband regularly goes off and rides his bike for hours without feeling guilty.

WIBU to go to this waterpark alone? And why do I feel super guilty?! What would you do with a free sunny day if you had a chance?

Go for it!!!

I would if I could

cremeegg · 05/07/2019 11:04

Do it! Enjoy yourself whilst you have the chance!

pippistrelle · 05/07/2019 11:04

Go for it, and don't feel guilty for a second!

Me, I want to lounge around under a tree reading a book.

Hmmmmmmum · 05/07/2019 11:04

Go! I would! Post us pictures!

Nquartz · 05/07/2019 11:05

Yes! Can I come too?!

I love water Paris but can't do all the slides due to queues so would love to go when it's quiet.

QuestionableMouse · 05/07/2019 11:05

Why wouldn't you? I love doing things alone, means I actually get to do what I want rather than pandering to other people!

Confrontayshunme · 05/07/2019 11:05

@pippistrelle theoretically I could take my book and read on a lounger for a bit. Best of both!

definitely go - I'm more than happy to go to places on my own

PinkSpring · 05/07/2019 11:07

When we last went to center parcs we put our DD in a three hour childcare session specifically so we could go to the water park and on the slides Grin

Do it!

ScruffGin · 05/07/2019 11:07

Go for it! Just maybe don't tell the kids when you see them later Grin

Ragwort · 05/07/2019 11:07

Absolutely go, I don’t go to water parks (none near me) but my very favourite thing to do on a sunny day is to go, on my own, to an outside pool, enjoy Smile.

Where is the water park?

Borris · 05/07/2019 11:08

Do it!

BeardofZeus · 05/07/2019 11:09

DD was in nursery this week so me and OH went to a theme park for the day! Great fun and perfect adult day out

Go for it! It’ll 100% be worth it when you come home feeling happy and relaxed

Weenurse · 05/07/2019 11:09

Go for it!
DH and I went to one in Hawaii mid week during a school term to avoid the queues, one of my happiest days.

100% agree YANBU (according to the vote)

Have a great time OP

Confrontayshunme · 05/07/2019 11:18

Okay have finished Love Island and am doing it. DH even messaged me randomly and said "do something fun today and enjoy the sunshine!"

For a bit of background, we are supporting three really close friends/family with cancer and I have been very involved with helping and supporting them and family so I just feel guilty as I could be doing something for them!

Getting out my bike and going!

Well done OP!

I took DD and some of her friends to a theme park, as they've finished their exams.

Another dad just dropped them outside, but balls to that!
I went in and had a great day on my own!

Why on earth wouldn’t you? There is nowhere that I would consider off-limits because I’m alone. Well, downtown Aleppo maybe but you know what I mean.
