To wear a pastel dress to a wedding late January?

I bought a dress for a friend's wedding (way too early, I suppose) as I liked it and thought I'd have an occasion to wear it this August.

For various reasons, the wedding was postponed until the end of January and DH reckons I'll need a new dress now! Apparently it's too summery because it's a blush colour. Is he right?

I think you need a new dress too OP.

Could you wear it accessorise it with darker colours, navy or something?

Can you post a pic?

Show us the dress!!

SnuggyBuggy · 04/07/2019 19:52

I wouldn't be bothered. No one looks too closely at the guests at weddings

bridgetreilly · 04/07/2019 19:54

It's not so much the colour as the fabric and style. I wouldn't wear a really summery dress in January, that would be weird. But winter dresses certainly can come in blush or other pastel colours.

We need a photo to advise.

This is the dress. I guess I did choose it because it was summery. Was slightly surprised that DH said get another, as he usually wouldn't have thought about which colours 'go', so I wonder if it would be strikingly out of place.

That would be great with a navy jacket. Totally fine in January!

simplekindoflife · 04/07/2019 20:03

It's fine, and totally not overly summerly at all! Darker accessories will help incorporate it into a winter wedding.

But what is the actual colour? Looks a bit white/cream on my screen, which might not be wedding appropriate...

Wear a navy jacket and accessories with it as others said.

Earan · 04/07/2019 20:05

Thanks for your thoughts. I like the idea of navy with it.

It's definitely peachy/pink in real life, not cream.

It’s lovely! Totally fine imo

Rosemary46 · 04/07/2019 20:06

It’s lovely and will be prefect with navy.

Blueberrysponge · 04/07/2019 20:09

I personally think a navy jacket would clash, mid grey something?
