Have been feeling a bit unwell for a few days but put it down to endometriosis. Today have been feeling odd and have had diarrhea mor than 10 times. Each has been verry watery with lots of mucus. I have tried drinking rehydration solution and keeping fluids up but have begun to feel faint and shaky when I go to the toilet. Now lying down hoping the pains ease off.

I have just been again and am now shivering. Is there anything I can do to get some rest and allow my body to take on fluids?

You may have a bug, I’d get in bed, take some paracetamol and don’t eat for 24 hrs to try and let your digestive system have a rest. Sip boiled cooled water as it’s easiest in the stomach.

Tdespite resting and not eating yesterday this has continued. I do not know if I should try to see someone or hope it improves.

Poor thing, sounds like a horrible bug. It usually isn’t recommended to try and see a dr unless it continues beyond the usual few days for a stomach bug.

Can anyone get you diarolyte? It’s foul (like salty Ribena...) but will help keep you hydrated as it has electrolytes. That might be what you meant by rehydration solution! If not just try to drink water (little and often) and get as much sleep as you can.

If it isn’t better in a couple of days, or if you become much worse, call the NHS line and they will advise on how best to go about seeing someone.

Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Thanks I have been using dioralyte along with water and icelollies. The concern I have is I am not convinced it is a bug as had been eating very plain foods before and have not known anyone with a bug recently.

I think my concern is how bad do things need to get before the boddy needs some help to deal.

If it’s not a bug then what do you think it is?

It sounds like a bug to me though. I had a stomach bug at the start of June which lasted 7 days. I was wiped out for a further week.
I don’t think a dr would be concerned about diarrhoea until it got to over 7-10 days tbh.

Sounds like a stomach bug - a doctor won't do anything about it, nor will they appreciate you going to the surgery and spreading it around!

I had endo metreocis removed from my bowel and think it is something to do with this. Its. I whave not been sick and just worry something else is going on.

Call 111, you need to speak to a professional.

Cryalot2 · 05/07/2019 07:52

Flowers sorry you feel so poorly. I have been there and have bowel condition.
I can never forget one incident spending several hours in a public loo. When i was well enough i told my dr who said it was likely a bug and if you have sensitive bowels you will pick things up that others wont . He said i could have touched something that another person touched who carried a bug, or not washed their hands properly. So that could apply

Have you got information after your proceedure? Ring the number and ask them, or get your gp to ring you . Most do this and they can advise .

Keep drinking the dioralyte and eat plain food such as crackers or dry toast .
I tend to go for ready salted baked crisps.

Immodum can hp but not suitable for everyone.

The mucous is worrying as it suggests cloths which I have and yes it leaves me weak and shaky if it flares up. Tin but I end up with terrible cramps and diarrhoea with mucous. As someone said call 111 since you have had bowel issues already.

Likethebattle · 05/07/2019 08:39

*colitis not cloths bloody auto correct.
