Hi sorry for posting here.. If anyone knows a better thread to post please suggest.
Anyway, my friend has asked for suggestions for a flowers girls dress because I'm good with this stuff!?. She wants to add 'gold sparkles' to it. She has asked for help and I'm stumped. Have suggested individual gold sequins? I can't find much online, other than actual clothes that are gold and sparkly. Looking for some great DIY suggestions please and thanks.

Sorry should have mentioned that she already has said dress. Incase I didn't make that clear. Her dressmaker has said she is willing to do it, but she needs to supply what she wants used.

Can the dressmaker tell her where to get the supplies, and your friend order them?

Or if you type "gold sequins for sewing" into amazon, there are loads of options

Glue on gold rhinestones would be a lot easier and quicker than sequins.

(I pray the link works, its a long URL)

Can you post the dress here?

Sequins - you can get them on backing/tape for edging.
Othewise, some sort of gold lurex lace/edging?

Appliqués here

Gold sequins or gold beads should do it.

You could also look at dressmaking rhinestones/crystals, either gold coloured or clear but set in gold. You can buy 'hot fix' (usually iron on) or sew on.

To the sequins suggestion she said she wants more sparkle rather than that.

What about adding a big golden/sparkly ribbon waist tie and then some shoulder appliqués?

Without seeing the dress it’s hard to say though!

Thanks for all replies. She has gone for gold dressmakers crystals.

A slightly sparkly tulle layer for the skirt?

QuestionableMouse · 04/07/2019 20:11

I'd have gone for some sequin lace. It's usually pretty straightforward to attach and some of it is absolutely beautiful.
