The guy is completely out of touch ....and I know I'm unreasonable for posting this here. But people need to wake up to what's happening.

I think he polarises opinion I’m the same way that Corbyn does to the left.

Neither have any appeal to that middle 40% that win parties elections. All very odd

Context of speech?

Makes a big difference whether the reference to oppidan was made to an audience he could expect to understand it (eg at Eton) v some random place.

You could also maybe argue that at least he isn't 'talking down' to people. Smile

It's in a Spectator article. So audience context yes, but does rather show how he thinks.....still in the school boy mindset.
