Aibu to tell you that this week Aldi are selling those parking poles you can lock in upright position to save your parking space .... (I think they might be known as penguin bollards on Mumsnet) AND you can order online!! Only £19.99!!

Those are not penguin bollards. This is a penguin bollard.

@devuskums I saw those in the Aldi mag this week and thought of mumsnet too! Grin

EarlGreyOfTwinings · 01/07/2019 21:57

Who doesn't love Aldi's infamous isle of tat!

EarlGreyOfTwinings · 01/07/2019 21:58

*aisle even!

TabbyMumz · 01/07/2019 22:02

Surely you have to somehow bolt them on to the road?

Biancadelrioisback · 01/07/2019 22:07

MN taught me that the aisle is the WTF aisle or the wild aisle and that is now what it is know as in my house.
My favourite part of shopping, I actually get excited about it.
My local Aldi also has a tent in the summer

SachaStark · 01/07/2019 22:11

Oh my god, I LOVE the WTF aisle.

What I actually love most is the total lack of a shit given when it comes to organising those bargains: ski socks next to the hanging baskets next to the salad spinners? Well, fuck yeah!

FarTooMuchWashing · 01/07/2019 22:20

@ EarlGreyOfTwinnings
‘Isle of tat’ it shall be evermore. I love it Grin

I'm totalling stealing Isle of Tat. Brilliant.

NoIsACompleteAnswerSometimes · 01/07/2019 22:33

I always call it the "aisle of delight", always a surprise every time!

sandragreen · 01/07/2019 22:34

We (South Coast) Call it the Isle of Shite Grin

devuskums · 01/07/2019 22:48

@StockholmSue wow I didn't realise they were actually penguins!! Genius!

Sparklingbrook · 01/07/2019 22:50

'Square of treasure' here.

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 01/07/2019 22:50

Isle of Shite here too!

But always have a look.

pebbleo · 01/07/2019 22:55

We call it the "mystery tour!"

pebbleo · 01/07/2019 22:56

Does anyone else feel oddly compelled by the Tupperware? I'm always drawn to it!

GruciusMalfoy · 01/07/2019 22:58

My best aisle o' crap find was in Lidl - welding masks stacked neatly next to the door mats.

HomeEdRocks18 · 01/07/2019 22:59

We call it the aisle of doom

PigletJohn · 01/07/2019 23:21

the padlock shown will not last long outside before it rusts and jams. A Squire 660 is remarkably weatherproof. It's an old-fashioned design, and has 4 large brass levers that don't rust.

Also suitable for gates.

PigletJohn · 01/07/2019 23:25

here's the Aldi link. Spend a penny more and get free delivery

www.aldi.co.uk/parking-pole/p/017006280867600

and this padlock will not last as long as the Squire 660, but is better than the one in their ad.

PigletJohn · 01/07/2019 23:34

looking at it, it seems to have a built-in lock so the padlock isn't needed and won't fit.

Buyer reviews please!

YesQueen · 01/07/2019 23:45

@PigletJohn my dad is practically frothing with excitement. Ongoing 11 year parking war....
last week was tarmac paint and stencils, this is tipping him over the edge Grin

frankie001 · 01/07/2019 23:46

Aisle of bad decisions!

WoollyMollyMonkey · 01/07/2019 23:47

This is the pole in the store magazine - you can see it a bit better than on the website pic (if I can attach!)
