To ask what colour you've painted your garden walls

We have the chance to repaint three walls. One at the top of the garden, next to a black shed. Two smaller walls near some new oak decking and oak sleepers.

I intend to buy a black table and possibly orange chairs from Fermob - see here - which will go against the wall on the decking.

But I can be persuaded! I had thought about doing the wall F&B Downpipe grey but DS and DH have destroyed that idea.

Any thoughts? What did you do?

How big is the space?

Outdoors darker colours make the space feel bigger because they retreat, lighter colours make it feel smaller because they close in on you.

So it kind of depends how big the space is and how you want it to feel.

I wanted to paint ours creamy yellow, but DH didn't like it when I did a bit. He wanted a grey, but I didn't like it (too dark) so we mixed the rest of both pots together, and have a lovely creamy grey, but it will be hard to replicate when it needs renewing.....

I like walls to be wall-coloured and fences to be fence-coloured!

Thelowquietsea · 30/06/2019 14:08

The space isn't huge - I haven't measured it, tbh. I want it to feel big!

I always like duck egg blue for garden

ladypenelopeplum · 30/06/2019 14:44

forest green walls. The wooden garden furniture is lime green and bright pink.

Navy blue, with plants grown up them. I thought it was a bit brave for a small space but its worked well, it goes really well with the green foilage and as sevenoftwelve said it has created the illusion of more space.
Before that they were white and the glare was really uncomfortable.
