He really is amazing live. I saw him a few years back and the vibe was up there with the big names.

Mrsjayy · 29/06/2019 10:27

I don't think i am stormzys demographic eitherbut my middle aged fb friends seem quite taken with him Grin he did look fabulous on stage I must admit

QuaterMiss · 29/06/2019 10:31

Can some young hip person tell me why he started his set wearing a stab vest?

Sarcasm much? Hmm

Wonderful post MitziK!

He had the crowd eating out of his hands. Knows how to play to a festival crowd, many of whom wouldn’t normally listen to his music.

Glad Glastonbury are putting a variety of music on the main stages. There are audiences for all types of music and they should also have a chance to see their favourite music on the main stages not hidden in some tent at the back.

From what I understand, Glastonbury was very musically diverse until the mid 90s when Brit pop dominated and it became all about white men with guitars and thus many people started to believe the festival was for rock music only but there’s so much more music out there. I don’t like everything but I’m happy to be exposed to everything as I never know what I may like. I recently discovered I liked K Pop.

His manager is definitely hot!!

Likeazombi · 29/06/2019 10:42

You're not supposed to get it.
Same as years ago older people didn't get rock and roll, punk, rave music, its always the way. Always the same "it's just noise" comments.
Grime is the only original thing British youth culture has created this century. I think as a genre and artists like stormzy deserve respect for that.

motorcyclenumptiness · 29/06/2019 10:51

I prefer a bit of Super Furry Animals meself and am far too ancient and dull to be Stormzy's target demographic but he's definitely headliner material. It was an amazing show - content, sound and visuals were brilliant.

Unfortunately I'm unwell at the moment with a summer tummy bug so had to take to my bed with my laptop last night. Thanks Stormzy for a lovely show. I loved the ballet dancers and the music.

Looking forward to The Cure and Kylie on Sunday! Feeling a bit better today.

wheresmymojo · 29/06/2019 11:02

I actually think I'm probably cringe because I do get the music.

I bloody love rap, grime, hip hop.

I do catch myself grinding around the kitchen and then realise I'm not a 20 something anymore but a white middle class cracking on for 40 Home Counties woman who works in pensions.

Not sure I'm the target market but in my head I'm still 20 something Grin

TravellingSpoon · 29/06/2019 11:05

Love Stormzy, seen him live quite a few times now. he is great live and has quite a few songs. I suppose if you are into grime you dont listen to Radio 2, so thats maybe why you havent heard of any. I love the fact that he calls out Boris in his last 2 tracks.

i think the last few years Glastonbury has taken a bit of a curve ball, with headliners you couldnt get away with anywhere else, like Dolly Parton or Kenny Rogers.

Sandybval · 29/06/2019 11:12

I'm not a huge fan, but fair play to him for what he has achieved! Headlining Glastonbury having got to where he is on talent and no leg ups is incredible; and no doubt inspiring! He put on an amazing show as well.

Mrsjayy · 29/06/2019 11:12

Dolly Sunday was the best thing I have seen in my live ever Grin

Charley50 · 30/06/2019 19:04

Chris Martin has just popped up on Kylie's set! Ruining 'Can't get you out of my head, with his acoustic guitar!
