The instructions say it'll take 2 hours to defrost. I cannot possibly wait that long.

It's been out the freezer section of the supermarket for 20 minutes and no amount of staring at it is helping.

I want to eat it in time for Celebrity Gogglebox. How can I 'help' it defrost without ruining it?

Cut it up into slices. They’ll defrost faster than the whole cake would.

ohhelloitsyou · 28/06/2019 20:38

If it’s a gateaux, I have been known to eat from the outside in 😬

limitedscreentime · 28/06/2019 20:39

It's just a good frozen, hard to cut through the base though....

OtherThings · 28/06/2019 20:41

Cut it up into slices

Right, doing that right away.

Cut it into slices. The thinner the slice, the quicker it defrosts. Enjoy !

Waveysnail · 28/06/2019 20:42

Defrost feature of oven?

OtherThings · 28/06/2019 20:42

It's lemon swirl, if that helps.

Pop it in the microwave on defrost. Keep checking it after 10secs to ensure it doesn't go hot. Practice with a slice you've hacked off.

ShinyMe · 28/06/2019 20:54

I would fill a bowl with hot water, and put the plate on top. That will help speed it up.

melissasummerfield · 28/06/2019 20:56

Just eat it frozen OP Grin

Also cutting it into slices gets rid of some of the calories.

Well, I hope it's nicer than the cheesecake I bought for this evening. Tesco finest, chocolate and salted caramel. More than half is the biscuit base, then the cheesecake bit, then a topping. So less than half is cheesecake. And the biscuit base is that really dark, almost black, and very dry kind. Horrid.

Howlovely · 28/06/2019 21:56

All good OP?
Let this be a lesson to you for future. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail 😉
Hope you enjoyed it!

MamaWeasel · 28/06/2019 22:14

Eat it frozen! Yummy!

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 28/06/2019 22:17

Stick I knife in the middle and make a cheesecake ice lolly. Proper job.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/06/2019 22:25

We always used to eat cheesecake frozen when I was a kid. (Only works with the chocolate ones) it tastes so much better frozen!

Toddlerteaplease · 28/06/2019 22:26

Still can't get my gears round defrosted cheesecake. It's not the same!

aoeu · 28/06/2019 22:30

It's possible to wait for them to defrost? Nah, you're kidding me.
