AIBU? The tenants in our flat (a couple who we normally get on with brilliantly, model tenants, and I think we are pretty nice to them too!) emailed me earlier this week to let me know there was a problem with the fridge freezer, and asked for a new one. I agreed instantly, asked for dimensions of the space and a picture which they supplied. I asked about height and space above it etc as it was a tricky size to find and they answered "yes you could get one slightly taller". I then found only 1 option that would fit the space, so bought it. Arranged delivery for 2 weeks time. Told them, they said thank you and seemed happy. All this had been done with me e mailing partner 1 of the couple.
This morning partner 2 emails me. "Actually we have decided that the fridge you've bought isn't big enough for us, and I've found this one that we would like instead here's a link xxx. Please can you Alphasox ring currys and change it?" They were very polite about it, but I was a bit put out, as it creates more work for me.
The new suggested fridge they like is the same price as the one I've ordered, but a lot taller and a lot deeper, so I replied back to them and pointed out that it will stick out compared to the dimensions partner 1 gave me - are you sure? Partner 2 replies, that they have checked and new suggestion will definitely fit... (I.e. did partner 1 give me the wrong dimensions?)??
I want to be helpful, and i have a spare 10 mins, so I phone currys. I am I will then have to cancel the original order and wait 5 days for the money to come back into my account. I would need to wait that 5 days before I can order the other option fridge because we aren't swimming in spare cash at the moment. My worry is what will happen if their preferred option is then out of stock?
AIBU to say no, I'm sorry I've bought you a perfectly decent fridge. Which is what I feel I should say, but I don't want to piss them off, as I say, they're nice people and good tenants.
