The shooter should get life in prison and the mother should face prison too IMO. I agree where the report says she took herself and her unborn baby into a dangerous situation when she should have been protecting the baby. No mother would bring a born baby to a confrontation like this, an unborn one isn't any different. She should have protected her baby by not putting herself into that position.

It started with criminalisation of abortion.

Our office is in the process of evaluating this case and has not yet made a determination about whether to prosecute it as a manslaughter case, reduce it to a lesser charge or not to prosecute it

So it is still being mulled over.

The shooter was prosecuted but the indictment failed...I don't k ow why.

As the aggressor she is seen as endangering the life of her unborn child.

🤔 I did read quite a few reports and it sounded like this woman both initiated, and continued the physical fight with the other woman. Who then used the fire arm in what she believed was defence of her own life.

🤔 Now I don’t agree with America’s gun laws. I think they’re ridiculous BUT they are what they are.

This woman wasn’t the ‘victim’ she was the purpotrator who just walked away worse off! Stop ignoring that carrying a fire arm in the US (and using it to defend yourself) is perfectly LEGAL!

That means that this woman NEW the woman she was attacking may well have a weapon and use it to defend herself!!

Frankly I think it’s disgusting that this woman started and continued a physical fight, fully aware that she lived in a county where her VICTIM may have a weapon and use it to defend herself WHILST PREGNANT!

I don’t think she should have been jailed, and I think the whole Alabama abortion/women’s rights issues have totally derailed this story. A woman should not be held accountable for the life of her unborn baby- OBVIOUSLY

But it’s her own bloody fault this happened to her! Nobody forced her to attack the other woman, or continue to do so!

Those laws have been in America for years haven’t they?? I read about two teenagers who broke into a house 1 was armed, he tangled with the owner, shot went off the burglar with gun was killed other burglar was jailed for life for murder
