My stupid bloody work trousers have rubbed the top/inside of my thighs raw. I'm prone to a bit of chub rub anyway but it's the worst Ive I've ever had and I'm at work again in a couple of hours. I'm sitting in the softest Pj's I have and it's still so sore.

Any ideas? They're uniform trousers and wool/polyester mix and I think I've sweated under them which has caused the rubs. They're also a size or so too big which has made things worse. I've tried plasters but they won't stay in place.

Thanks!

I would put talc on the rubbed area or although it may be warm, a pair of tights under your trousers to add an extra barrier?

Titsntats · 27/06/2019 11:32

I bought a pair of Lycra style shorts from Asos which I wear under everything and they're a god send! Breathable and stretchy and just long enough on the thigh that they prevent any rubbing

Lipz · 27/06/2019 11:32

Caldesene powder. If you have cotton shorts like cycling shorts wear them under your trousers.

CassandraCross · 27/06/2019 11:35

You say the trousers are too big, are they big enough to fit a pair of cotton shorts/longer leg cotton pants underneath? I think tights would just make you sweat even more.

QuestionableMouse · 27/06/2019 11:35

Thanks! No tights but I do have some leggings. I'm just worried about adding more bulk which will rub more. I've been eyeing the bairn's nappy rash cream but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.

WomanLikeMeLM · 27/06/2019 11:35

Sudacrem but be careful when putting it on in case it goes all over your trousers.

Wellwhatalovelyday · 27/06/2019 11:37

Have you got some roll on deodorant? That will work!

GruciusMalfoy · 27/06/2019 11:37

Ouch! I've heard some people use nipple cream like Lansinoh on bits prone to chafing.

Purplequalitystreet · 27/06/2019 11:39

Don't use talc. Try sudocrem. You will bake if you wear leggings underneath your trousers in this heat.

QuestionableMouse · 27/06/2019 11:42

It's basically an open blister so I need to be careful what I use. 😩

I put some Savlon last night which has done bugger all. No Sudacreme (I'm allergic to lavender). I have the yellow nappy rash stuff, calomile lotion or zinc oxide cream.

If I didn't have to go to work I'd wander round with an ice pack between my legs 😯😯😂😂

Honestly? I'd call in sick with that and then be requesting work to review the uniform

QuestionableMouse · 27/06/2019 11:52

I doubt I'd get anywhere trying to fight the uniform. It's the biggest fast food chain in the land. Might give HR a ring and see if there's any flexibility though. I have black cotton chino type trousers that look pretty much the same and they're so much cooler.

I don't want to phone in because of chub rub.

Wellwhatalovelyday · 27/06/2019 11:54

Got any blister plasters?? Try that, and the surrounds with deodorant?

ssd · 27/06/2019 11:55

Say you have a migraine.
Lie, basically.
Bugger going in with that.

ssd · 27/06/2019 11:56

And get a Dr appointment

Thehop · 27/06/2019 11:56

Spray with anti perspirant it creates a lay-off slip

SeeSpotRun · 27/06/2019 12:00

If you have an old pair of tights, cut them to mid thigh length to create a pair of shorts to wear under the trousers. That should preventing the skin on skin friction without being as hot as wearing full tights.

QuestionableMouse · 27/06/2019 12:02

I tried plasters last night with no luck. It's in an awkward spot (where the elastic of your pants would sit basically, only on the thigh, if that makes any sense?)

It'll be healed before I can get in to see the GP or even nurse.

Thank you all for not laughing at me. It's bloody sore!

OP posts:
Psychologika · 27/06/2019 12:03

You're phoning in because your work trousers have caused you injury. You need it to dry out and heal as if you don't you risk serious infection and injury.

JessicaPeach · 27/06/2019 12:04

I've had this issue this week and used compeed blister plasters, they have worked a treat! Also got some giant support shorts/pants from primark and they are fab too

Picklypickles · 27/06/2019 12:07

The Big Bloomers Company make shorts specifically for chub rub, made out of the same stuff as tights and reinforced on the thighs, they are very lightweight although admittedly I've only worn them under skirts but they are wonderful.

SkydivingKittyCat · 27/06/2019 12:12

Let the air get to it for 24 hours or so, it'll be much better after that

DontCallMeShitley · 27/06/2019 12:12

Gauze dressing, a big thick square of it, bigger than the sore bit, no cream, and use some surgical tape or elastoplast, preferably something that pulls of without a residue and stick it around the edges. Keep it dry.

Or look at colloidal silver www.silverlab.co.za/body-map-index/how-treat-blisters-cuts/

Do you have access to any boxer shorts, cotton would be best, maybe the ones like t shirt material?

GreyHare · 27/06/2019 12:15

Lanacane do an anti chafing gel which is quite good but the best thing I found to stop chub rub is Sloggi long leg briefs, they are like cycling shorts and deeply unsexy but so so comfy and don't ride up like cheaper versions do.

CassandraCross · 27/06/2019 12:22

Boxer shorts is a good call and I do agree you need to put some kind of dressing over it for when you are at work. Once it has healed you can use anti-chafing gel, etc., but I wouldn't put that on the open blister you have now. If you have to wear the uniform trousers as described, which I suspect will be HR's response, invest in some shorts type undergarment as pps have suggested.
