My stupid bloody work trousers have rubbed the top/inside of my thighs raw. I'm prone to a bit of chub rub anyway but it's the worst Ive I've ever had and I'm at work again in a couple of hours. I'm sitting in the softest Pj's I have and it's still so sore.

Any ideas? They're uniform trousers and wool/polyester mix and I think I've sweated under them which has caused the rubs. They're also a size or so too big which has made things worse. I've tried plasters but they won't stay in place.

Thanks!

Good luck.

Bodyglide is good stuff for avoiding rubbing. You'll need to let it heal first though. I hope the dressing does the trick.

Jeremybearimybaby · 27/06/2019 15:03

The Snag shorts are amazing! As are the tights! If you're over 5'10" they're particularly fabulous as you'll have spent larger portions of your adult life with your gusset at your knees in ordinary tights
I bought the shorts a few weeks back - just brilliant! Grin

chemenger · 27/06/2019 15:07

In future roll on antiperspirant works well for under skirts with bare legs, but if scratchy trousers are the problem I think you need shorts. I’ve ordered the Snag ones, I wonder if they’re seeing a surge in orders?

CareBear50 · 27/06/2019 17:20

Serum that you put on under your foundation is brilliant

TooGood2BeFalse · 27/06/2019 18:17

Oof OP that sounds so painful!Hope you find a solution!

QuestionableMouse · 27/06/2019 21:19

Well I made it through my shift but fuck me, it is so so sore. Going to see if I can get in to see the nurse tomorrow.

I'm not wearing those trousers again. I don't care if work moan. I'll quit before I put them on again.

@QuestionableMouse you need liquid talc from Asda, its life changing for chub rub!

QuestionableMouse · 27/06/2019 22:18

Getting one of everything recommended tomorrow!

I'm not normally this bad but the bloody trousers have really got me badly this time.

OP posts:
Shouldbedoing · 27/06/2019 22:24

Yes to liquid talc from Asda - apparently it's in their Little Angels range and is under £2

Shouldbedoing · 27/06/2019 22:25

Not tried it but keep meaning to as it comes highly recommended.

CassandraCross · 27/06/2019 22:28

Good idea to have it checked by the nurse if possible OP, you don't want to run the risk of it getting worse or infected.

Burn those trousers, you can't be forced to wear them when they are causing you such problems.

QuestionableMouse · 27/06/2019 22:28

I think I've actually got a bottle (tube?) of it in the bathroom. Might give it a go when everything is healed up.

Tallgreenbottle · 27/06/2019 22:34

Bodyglide. I'm a size 18/20 runner with fat arms and tops of thighs. One application of Bodyglide saves me even on a 5-10k.

HoobleDooble · 27/06/2019 22:37

I'm what you'd politely call a 'larger lady' and used to use athletes foot talc to prevent chub rub and underboob soreness during the summer. A few years ago I discovered that bio oil (the orange stuff I'd bought for stretch marks when I was pregnant) works about a billion times better. I'd recommend to everyone. Just a few drops after bathing ... along my groin where my pants might rub, under my c-sec flap and under my norks, not had any soreness for years.

Chesntoots · 27/06/2019 22:48

My uniform trousers are also wool mix, but there is the option to order cotton ones for people with an allergy to wool. I order those.

I'm running about a lot and the wool ones were a nightmare. I literally have felt your pain.

Speak to work and tell them you need cotton only trousers as you have a bad reaction to the wool. If necessary get ye to a doctor for a note to give them (You may need to pay for the note though)

cricketmum84 · 27/06/2019 22:50

Can you get some metanium cream? I suffer with certain pairs of jeans and that always clears up the soreness for me x

NannyRed · 27/06/2019 22:52

You need the anti chub chef drawers from

www.thebigbloomerscompany.co.uk/anti-chafing-knickers/all-anti-chafing-knickers

I have three pairs, they are super soft, very comfy under dresses and fairly discreet if you buy the skin tone ones.

Do you have any cycle shorts or similar you can wear until you can get some anti chub rub pants?

BusterGonad · 28/06/2019 02:17

DO NOT use talc or anything else until you've cleared up the problem, you will only feed the fungus/infection. Buy the cream I recommended early THEN use deodorant never talc!

managedmis · 28/06/2019 02:21

Make sure you take photos as proof

QuestionableMouse · 28/06/2019 10:53

@cricketmum84 that's what I've been using and it's working really well.

Not sure I can take photos without them being X rated but good idea.

Luckily I have three whole days off work so have time to get things and let my legs heal. Have an appointment with the nurse prescriber in the morning but for now I'm chilling on the bed pant less with the fan directed at the area.

Thanks for all the recommendations, they've been really helpful (even if I have spent a fortune on amazon this week! 😂)

Please don’t use Lansinoh if you are allergic to wool, it’s made from lanolin, which is the oil present in sheep’s wool, and may be what is causing your wool allergy.

QuestionableMouse · 28/06/2019 11:09

Thanks! I normally check the ingredients before applying anything due to my issue with lavender.

IncrediblySadToo · 28/06/2019 11:15

I hope it’s healed soon!

Wear your other trousers. Forgiveness is easier to obtain than permission!

I love my Lycra shorts - with or without trousers on top I don’t ‘do’ skirts/dresses. I don’t like the feeling.

I’m glad you’re off work for the next few (hit) days! Look after yourself 🌷

Pinkfinkle · 28/06/2019 11:16

My friend puts cycle shorts under skirts/dresses to prevent it.

cricketmum84 · 28/06/2019 19:02

@QuestionableMouse I bloody love metanium. One particular pair of jeans always run me in that same place and the metanium can clear it up in a day.

Hope it's feeling less sore.
