To wonder what kind of radiators you have?

I will be painting all rooms a warm off white and I will have horizontal radiators. I never realized there was such a huge choice - bog standard compact rads, flat panel rads or column rads. some of the repro cast iron rads are things of beauty! Grin.

I know it depends on my budget but I am leaning towards the classic look of column radiators. But then, what colour? White to blend in or a colour (bronze/grey) to make a feature? It's a nightmare trying to make all these decisions for a renovation.

Are cast iron radiators worth the extra expense? I know they are supposed to stay warm for longer after being switched off.

Boring white bog standard ones hth

Radiators are not a feature, just a necessity to me. So ones that blend into the background, take up the least room and work efficiently would be what I bought. I'd use heated towel rails in bathrooms instead of radiators.

Flat, slim, corrugated.

We don’t have any as we have underfloor heating. I actually kind of miss radiators.

Just....radiators Smile

We have just bought an anthracite old fashioned style for dining room and have an old fashioned style horizontal one in kitchen. It's fab.

We put column ones in our last flat. They looked lovely (it was a period property so they fit the bill) but they were a bit fiddly to clean. We’ve just moved to a house and the radiators will need replacing in the next few years. I’m definitely seriously tempted by the flat panel ones for ease of cleaning and the modern look as it’s a modern house.

We've got column radiators in our characterful 20's house. I think they look lovely in older properties. I don't necessarily love the repro cast iron as they look very statement-y and compete with the actual statement pieces.

We are doing up our 60s house. So far flat panel vertical anthracite radiators are looking great. Go for it OP!
