Harry and Megan had perfectly stunning apartments in Kensington palace - they decided they didn’t want to live there do they should fit the bill - they are absolutely loaded, why should we pay?
KP had all the security set up too, now that bill will be doubled as we will have to pay for them to be guarded as well.
It’s not open to the public like Buck palace is, just can’t be doing with the whole lot of them.

YABU. £2.4m is literally nothing in the property world and probably about 0.000000001% of what Brexit has already cost this country (and that's before it's even happened!). I'm making that figure up but you get what I'm trying to say.
You could easily spend that on a roomy but relatively ordinary semi in many parts of London - I don't think it's an excessive cost to house the brother of the future king.
Plus, Frogmore Cottage is presumably owned by the Crown and therefore by the nation - it's a historic building which was in need of renovation - and renovations to historic buildings don't come cheap, believe me.
If they'd chosen to live in a new-build McMansion (cheaper to maintain and run) you would have been mocking them for being too footballers wives.
Just leave them alone. Harry didn't ask to be born a prince or lose his mother age 13. He deserves a happy private life.

The Cottage was up for renovation before they were going to move in. The parts they have added has hardly put the cost up.

Nobody cares that Meghan is black! I hate that if anyone makes a criticism of Meghan it is seen as racist. I don't see colour. I think that people might be a bit more critical of Meghan than Harry, William and Kate because:
We have all grown up with Harry and he has at least done some very worthwhile things: invictus games for wounded soldiers, a charity in Africa, etc

Kate has also been here a long time and been involved in numerous things
In my opinion: Meghan has swanned in, already with a reputation of being a social climber, being nasty and cutting off everyone from a previous life, and is getting millions handed to her. It just makes it that slightly bit more aggravating than the rest of the royal family

I disagree. Im no more 'annoyed' by meghan! In fact, meghan was famous or well known in her own right, with money and a career. Kate's money is her family's. So meghan hasnt swanned in to wealth. She was used to it.

Ponoka7 They will pay rent just as the rest of the royals do. Andrew pays for Royal Lodge, Edward for Bagshot, all the Kensington residents pay rent as well.

The Queen gives them the chance to live there. She may even gift them the first lease perhaps, but they all pay rent (they didn’t used too, but they do now).

What really galls me is the 'humanitarian' message they are spouting, whilst being wasteful spendthrifts. You can't be a humanitarian whilst you're living in cosseted luxury. They obviously need a certain standard of living, but this is obscene, as are all the many houses Charles owns and all the travel by private jet. It makes a mockery of the values which many of their charities are promoting.
