AIBU to want to use Mumsnet on the Chrome browser?

I use the google chrome browser, don't like Microsoft Edge. However for the past few days have had to resort to edge as Mumsnet have decided to add a cookie consent that is powered by quancast and the I accept button or buttons in the Show purposes selection don't work in Chrome.

AIBU to expect this to have been tested in the most commonly used web browsers before it was released?

You just need to zoom your screen out. Top left button

When I installed Chrome I also installed MyTransitMapper entirely by accident and had to get an expert to remove it.

I was told to avoid Chrome.

I'm on Chrome too. Works absolutely fine.

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 24/06/2019 18:54

Chrome here, too. Working fine for me.

What were you told to use?

I don't know how the heck you managed to install third-party software with Chrome, but I'd imagine it either had nothing to do with it—it could have been that there was a virus already on the machine that was waiting until you installed Chrome to inject itself into it—or you installed the Chrome setup binary from a non-reputable source.

In future, download Chrome from directly from the manufacturer's site (in this case, Google's download page for Chrome) rather than from somewhere like Softonic, for as reputable as these theird-party download sites may seem (and attempt to be, in many cases) they are the perfect vectors through which hackers attack unsuspecting non-tech-savvy users.

Appears to work with the Chrome browser for Android.
