What do you mean by "successful"?

Do you mean making loads of money or do you mean a happy work/life balance or do you mean a hobby with a fringe benefit of providing spending money?

People start businesses for a variety of reasons. If someone wants a happy work/life balance but ends up a millionaire working 100 hours per week, is that a success or not?

Successful as in happy and with enough money just to live on
