Anyone tried this? I can get a one to one session locally for £25 but would I just be wasting my money?

It is unecessary for people to come on here to yell that it is all bullshit - come on everyone, some of us believe in it, some don't, do you really need to be so obnoxious about it? We should respect each others spiritual beliefs - there is no need for negativity and bashing. I assume the people bashing it wouldn't come to someone christian or muslim and yell that their spiritual belief is bull - so why do it here?

handbagfettish · 24/06/2019 22:44

The woman actually does group sessions for £3 to £5 so doubt she's in it for the money. I just thought it would be interesting, however, I am open minded unlike a lot of people on here!

The word ‘charlatans’ springs to mind.
Please don’t be so gullible. If you’re unhappy with your current life, look for sensible ways to make it better.
Find something decent to waste your money on 🙂

Totally agree. There are some real dicks on MN.

DisputedChair · 25/06/2019 00:19

I wish the woo brigade on here would move on from the idea that any kind of self-deluding hogwash should be ‘respected’.

Tolleshunt · 25/06/2019 00:20

I agree about the snidey negativity. There is no need to try and dictate other peoples’ spiritual beliefs. If you don’t believe, fine. No need for smug superiority or insults aimed at those who do, or are open minded or curious. You do you, and try not to be controlling of others.

HPLikecraft · 25/06/2019 00:38

There was a thread about astrology a couple of days ago, and it was observed that astrology seems to less prominent now than in recent years. It has, apparently, fallen out of favour and credibility.
I hope the same happens with some of the other woo that is still being peddled. I can’t, for example believe that some people still have faith in psychics/mediums, yet tethered are still occasional threads on here where people ask for recommendations.

I agree about the snidey negativity
Sceptics have, on this thread been called real dicks, closed minded, smug, obnoxious... yet it is they who have “snidely negativity”?

carla1983 · 25/06/2019 00:48

Why, yes I am judging you for disrespecting other peoples' spiritual and religious beliefs. It's not the behaviour of a tolerant or respectful person. But I'm sure that's not the first time you've heard that.

carla1983 · 25/06/2019 01:06

If you're this controlling and insulting about strangers' religious beliefs, I dread to think what you're like to live with and actually relate to in person?

TheYeaSayer · 25/06/2019 01:07

Who are those last two comments directed at, Carla?

Faez · 25/06/2019 01:20

Oo woo bunfight!

Faez · 25/06/2019 01:20

I'd do it for a laugh but not with that woman who was on it, her voice was so irritating

Faez · 25/06/2019 01:21

carla1983 · 25/06/2019 01:31

@TheYeaSayer - anyone on here who has been disrespectful and said things like, "people who have spiritual beliefs are charlatans", "people who believe in spiritual stuff are gullible". etc etc.

Spiritual people & spiritualists actually don't give a shit what you believe, we're not trying to convert you like many religions out there, just don't insult and demean others.

There's a tenet to live by. Perhaps you could actually do with a bit of spiritual / religious guidance in your life seeing as you're not doing so great just going off your own sense of how others should be treated.

HPLikecraft · 25/06/2019 01:32

That can’t have been to me, surely, Carla?
My comment was just before yours, and whilst I made no secret of my scepticism, nowhere was I “controlling or insulting about strangers’ religious beliefs”; in fact I didn’t mention religious beliefs at all. Confused

HPLikecraft · 25/06/2019 01:33

Ah, I see, crosspost.

carla1983 · 25/06/2019 01:33

@HPLikecraft I don't think you've said anything insulting or nasty, no, it wasn't aimed at you.

carla1983 · 25/06/2019 01:37

My post above was aimed at anyone who has been insulting, they know who they are. Not necessarily at @TheYeaSayer.

I can't be bothered to go back through the thread and look at all the comments.

DeeCeeCherry · 25/06/2019 02:05

OP.- Please don't unless you at least research thoroughly

I'm the most non-woo person you could find, I think people waste loads of money on psychics and the like but due to a relatives' traumatic experience during and following regression, I now know it can and does work.

I can't say what happened as it's too outing - but the Tutor herself was petrified and whole thing led to course/sessions being closed down immediately, and my relative having further (different) therapy to resolve what had happened

When you're 'under' what you see may not all be sweetness and light and you living a peaceful humble past life. So read up on it and have a think

carla1983 · 25/06/2019 02:14

@DeeCeeCherry -

This is why you should go to someone who has done it for many years and has a solid reputation in the field (those people usually charge more than £25 for a session), preferably someone who helps to release past life trauma. Some therapists only do exploration - they can take you through a bad experience and then leave you dangling. You need someone who also specialises in trauma release so you get resolution and it's cathartic not traumatic.

I like the DMP method (deep memory process) developed by Dr Roger Woolger.

1300cakes · 25/06/2019 02:49

I'm not a believer but the way Will0wtree describes it makes it sound quite fun. Like having a vivid dream or having a cool idea come in to your head. So go for it OP, if you can afford it. There are plenty of equally silly or sillier ways to spend £25 and you'll get an hours entertainment out of it.

I also want to get a psychic reading, even though I know it's all fake. I want someone to cold read me and see what they come up with. I would pay £5-10 for that.

DisputedChair · 25/06/2019 09:54

You can dictate to a large extent what your 'psychic' will say, @1300cakes, by how you present yourself. The only time I saw one (not coincidentally at a very low spot in my life) I was visibly disabled, dressed in cheap, badly-fitting clothes with unkempt hair, and arrived on public transport (I'd been been in an accident and shattered my leg, and had to move back in with parents temporarily, buy loose clothes I could fit over the plaster etc, and wasn't able to bathe or shower easily for a while).

Basically, I looked dog-rough and defeated by life, and I got 'read' the kind of future that the 'psychic' clearly imagined was fitting for the person she thought I was. I was definitely never going to live overseas again or go back to university (I'd asked her this), but was going to move in with my boyfriend locally, work a bit in his 'little business' and have three daughters in quick succession within the next few years.

Except I almost immediately afterwards got a major postgraduate scholarship for a prestigious foreign university, recovered entirely from my injuries, and have never lived in my home country since -- I have a professional career, and one son, born more than 20 years after the 'psychic' visit. Grin

HeresMe · 25/06/2019 18:33

People say you wouldn't say that to Christians Muslims ect

Well I respect your right to be religious

However it is also my right to believe and say that it is all complete rubbish. And any diety who wants constant worship whilst doing naff all isnt worth praying too.

Chesntoots · 25/06/2019 18:45

If I was an accounts clerk from Tamworth I would be sincerely hoping there were other lives....

DeeCeeCherry · 05/07/2019 01:35

carla1983 this was a very well respected tutor with much experience in successfully conducting past life regression sessions. She was the lead tutor on course. It wasn't a private course/organisation. It was at a reputable state college.

She frightened herself as well as students on that occasion it seems. It worked, but the outcome of the regression caused trauma.

I'm a skeptic but this incident shocked me. I wouldn't ever undergo past life regression myself and I do think some things should just be left alone
