Posted this in pregnancy but I can’t sleep and hoping for some positive stories
Am 38+4 wks with dc3 I had a sweep yesterday and since then I have lost the bloody show and had s bit of backache. I went up to hospital today due to reduced movements ( all fine) the midwife thinks am far off labour. Iam booked to be induced on due day due to big baby so would love to avoid it as much as possible. Any thoughts or similar stories of my chances of going into labour soon ?

Do a big hoover and clean out a few kitchen cupboards tomorrow. That got mine started.

Sorry it's so rubbish OP. It's warm too, so even harder to sleep.

I feel for you, I'm 39 weeks and had lots of backache and twingy pains the past week. It gets me all excited then tails off to nothing. I'm so ready to give birth now! Won't be given a sweep until 7-10 days over and induction 12 days over 😭

Get on a yoga ball and start doing figure 8's and grind down deep as you do. It will irritate your cervix again and get the ball rolling, so to speak, if you're ready enough. Nothing will work tbh unless your body is ready.

You're nearly there OP, these are the loooongest weeks.

I was the same as you, they said they had to have baby out by his due date as he was going to be 10 pounds.
So I had a sweep at 37+5 And 38+5 and although I was 2cm dilated, nothing happened.
I then went for induction at 39+5 And to be honest it was great and much better than my previous natural labour. It was quicker, calmer, a better delivery. It was great being in the hospital from when it all kicked off and having regular monitoring rather than being at home wondering if it was time to make the move to hospital yet.
I had a 10pound 12 oz boy (only ended up with a small tear) and even the recovery has been much better.

I know am talking to myself but it’s an update I can look back on later about my labour.
On my way to hospital to get things going as baby’s very happy in there even without waters!
But my backs hurts at least
