Should I LTB now and never look back.
He’s 45 and should know better.

OP posts:
RedForShort · 20/06/2019 20:23

I think you're doomed.

If you take a helicopter view of the situation I think you'll sadly find no matter how good the idea shower is as posters on there is no low hanging fruit on this one. Don't let the grass grow long on this one, get your ducks in a row now, the only way you'll square this circle is a new country and full identity change for you.

Ursaminor · 20/06/2019 20:26

But you must make sure you are still within the financial envelope (urggh - kill me now.)

Fillybuster · 20/06/2019 20:26

Here’s my first ever LTB

ISmellBabies · 20/06/2019 20:28

You need a conscious uncoupling going forward.

PinkieTuscadero · 20/06/2019 20:35

Next time you're having sex he'll say 'let's park this blow job for a moment and try some blue sky thinking'.

AmeriAnn · 20/06/2019 20:37

I hope he didn't say, "I'm reaching out to you guys because I have something I want to share".

schnubbins · 20/06/2019 20:39

I will never forget the time my husband (who learned english from me) said we 'should touch base later' .I nearly fell over ! It is quite a long time ago but I really felt like he had forgotten that I was his wife and not one of his team.I have since got used to the lingo but still think it sound so staged and false and stupid. But we are 'all good' as they say.You can get used to anything!

NewMe2019 · 20/06/2019 20:42

I had a friend who informed me she 'teamed up with X' when discussing the fact they took their kids on a day out. Wtf!

Divorce is the only way he'll learn OP.

EmeraldShamrock · 20/06/2019 20:43

I'd laugh hysterically in his face.
When I started dating DP there was lots of hey hon, hun about, he called me hon I nearly fell over. Angry
A: men don't say hon.
B: I hated the hon phase.

Birdsfoottrefoil · 20/06/2019 20:45

Awww Hun!

makingmammaries · 20/06/2019 20:47

Ltb indeed or you’ll also find him comparing apples with pears

thenightsky · 20/06/2019 20:48

DH works from home a lot. I have just retired. I never realised just how much he uses the words 'Reach Out' until now. I'm shocked. I have told him not to, but he persists. There's no hope is there?

thenightsky · 20/06/2019 20:50

Oh... and what the hell does 'the business case might just wash its face' mean? I hear that a lot. Washing faces.

2stepsonthewater · 20/06/2019 20:53

I had a smarmy David Brent type manager once who always used to say 'suck it and see' in meetings. #barf

ChristmasFluff · 20/06/2019 20:54

There is still hope, so long as he is willing to enter counselling and work on his problems.

But if he's so much as once said 'outwith', then I'm afraid that no counsellor will see you together, and they will advise you leave immediately, taking any children to a place of safety.

topcat2014 · 20/06/2019 20:59

It could be worse - you could use 'socialise' instead of distribute or share.

(I see a North American influence here too)

when I hear reach out, I think of reach around, and giggle

topcat2014 · 20/06/2019 21:00

@thenightsky - generally a variation on neither make a profit or a loss, ie break even.

ChrisPrattsFace · 20/06/2019 21:03

So sorry OP, do you have someone you can talk to IRL about his behaviour? 😁😂

LittleG69 · 20/06/2019 21:04

I used this in a job interview earlier this year. I put my head in my hands and apologised, the panel laughed and unbelievably I got the job. Still hate the phrase though

Bluerussian · 20/06/2019 21:10

I always thought 'reaching out' was something to do with the Four Tops. Or vomiting.

Do you have a silver bullet for your Smith and Wesson?

MissConductUS · 20/06/2019 21:11

Hmmm we both eat a lot of hummus. The cat goes mental for it too.

Yogurt. Our cat goes crazy for yogurt. Hummus is a little too yuppie for him.

What I want to know is, which one of you weirdos voted YABU? narrows eyes

Weirdo raises hand. In my defense, I assumed that LTB meant Lying Tory Bastard.

RB68 · 20/06/2019 21:12

am so glad its not just me - I lose all respect for anyone using and especially over using this shit

MrsTommyBanks · 20/06/2019 21:12

I'm so sorry Flowers

Lifeover · 20/06/2019 21:13

Time to amicably uncouple with this man op

bananasonfire · 20/06/2019 21:14

Sing to him...'I'll be there...etc'
