My hair seems to be thinning, does anyone know a way to stop this and encourage growth? It just seems to be getting worse and worse 😭

Waterman's shampoo and conditioner and supplement is brilliant to get hair growing again. It really worked for me.

The pill definitely made me lose hair. I am also genetically predisposed to shed a lot of it and my parents have very few left.

Viviscal works nicely. As a PP said, nothing you put on the outside really works, I tried lots of oils and treatments and only gave me greasy hair.

Waterman’s shampoo and conditioner is actually very very good at promoting hair growth. Ok it won’t work in every circumstance but it worked for me and there are a lot of testimonials online, check out their Facebook or website - British company, cruelty free etc.
You could also see someone privately - I want to say dermatologist but I know that’s skin focused - the equivalent but hair focused?

This happened to me after I had underactive thyroid. Went on every vitamin I could find (11 a day in total including Iron, Biotin, selenium... can't remember rest). Nothing worked. Finally found to have really low levels of vitamin D and as soon as I started taking that it grew back.

It’s a Trichologist apparently!

I lose my hair when my Vit D is very low.

Please go and see the dr just to check there is no underlying medical cause.

My hair loss was due to an under active thyroid and anaemia.

You might want to get your ferritin checked (stored iron levels) low ferritin can cause thinning hair.

Castor oil is really meant to help. I used it on my postpartum hair as I was getting very thin waiting for regrowth. Just apply it to your scalp a couple of times a week the night before you're due to wash your hair, it's very thick and can be mixed with a bit of coconut oil to make it a bit less so.

Another thing I tried was collagen tablets and biotin.

Not much help really as I'm not sure which did it but something worked.

Oliack1417 · 20/06/2019 22:47

Do you use dry shampoo, this can block pores and cause thinning?

Adversecamber22 · 20/06/2019 23:21

Any huge amounts of stress? I lost a lot of hair when I suffered a bereavement. It’s growing back now but took three years.
