My DD is 14 months she was ill for about 8 days, took her to the hospital twice after phoning NHS 24 and then to the doctor. They gave me 4 different things it could be, but they weren't 100% sure so wouldn't give me anything for her. By day 9 I couldn't take anymore so I asked the doctor there must be something (apart from the usual Calpol and Nurofen) so she gave me an antibiotic. I know you have you take the full course, which I always do when I have them. This is the first time DD ever needed antibiotics. Today and tomorrow are the last days she has to take them, but it's extrmely difficult to make her take it. I've tried everything!
It tastes absolutley disgusting so I don't blame her but I literally just looked like I was wrestling her and she sealed her mouth shut with all her might. I finally got the syringe in her mouth and tried to get it right to the back of her mouth so she would just swallow but she spat it all out.
She is completely back to her normal self, and although i am usually very paranoid person who follows instructions carefully, it's very distressing for her and actually I don't even think she's taking it all down, yesterday she spat all 4 doses out.
Will it be really bad to just stop giving it? What happened to the nice tasting antibiotocs I had when I was a kid. I feel like of it tasted better she would take it, but really this stuff is horrible.
