Weekend Visitors - top tip

On Friday I stashed some sweets in my bedside table knowing the weekend that lay ahead and then swiftly forgot all about it. I've just come to bed for an 'early night' (perhaps instead of Netflix and Chill it was to Mumsnet and fart ) rather than actually sleep.

Anyway, found my secret stash and am fucking delighted that past me anticipated my anti social behaviour. Perhaps a mini bottle of wine and wine glass next time too! Cheers all Wine

Brilliant planning ahead skills there! Enjoy your treats!!!

Crapplepie · 16/06/2019 22:22

Ooh score!! Grin love your twinkly notebook? Is it a notebook? You should write evil plots in it! Wink

Dippypippy1980 · 16/06/2019 22:38

Such a tidy bedside table. Min looks that a tiny bomb has gone off in it.

GloGirl · 16/06/2019 22:41

Evil plots about my visitors Grin

I have had a lot of prosecco today but am still now sad thinking of my downstairs wine! Poor me.

Inside bedside table is tidy. Bedside surfaces are a menace of spilt foundation and 53 hair sprays, conditioning treatments and make up pots with no tops Blush

I am so gonna do this ...I'm on a 2 week countdown until in laws visit. This'll be my saviour Grin

GloGirl · 16/06/2019 23:17

How long are they up for Blythes?

My bedside table has bottled water, nuts, chocolate, pork scratchings and painkillers. It’s the emergency treatments for a migraine. But works well as a snack or breakfast for someone in hiding from the outside world!

fc301 · 16/06/2019 23:31

OMG you're an evil genius.

Pork scratchings for a migraine? Do you often get them in the night? That's rough.

Love the name change Grin Grin

Think an emergency bed box should catch on! 2 hours I've been tucked up here, marvellous. Got caught going to the loo though. If I had an en suite I could have a 'lie in' as well!

I always have a stash of smarties or kitkats in my bedside table drawer! I make sure to keep it stocked Grin

NearlySchoolTimeAgain · 17/06/2019 13:31

I’m on a low carb diet. Sometimes I get a headache from my salts being out of kilter. Pork scratchings sort that quickly!

4/5am migraines are my speciality. Horrid time to try and get either of my DSs up to help getting tablets and drinks so I’ve learned to be well supplied. Ibuprofen lysine has been a game changer - if I can get tablets in at 4am I’m usually just about able to do the school run at 8am.

NearlySchoolTimeAgain · 17/06/2019 13:33

This thread made me think of this friends episode!

What a brilliant idea! So often, I've gone to get some chocolate, only to find that DP has eaten it all. It never occurred to me to have a secret stash somewhere he'd never look.

I could hide small bars in rolled up socks and my bras are so big I could get a whole easter egg in each cup. He'll never think of rummaging through my underwear. Unless I'm wearing it, of course.Grin

CookPassBabtridge · 17/06/2019 13:46

This is me 😂😂 I'm an introvert and can't handle visitors for more than a few hours or I just shut off. Unfortunately DPs family are all spread over the country/abroad so visits are an overnight stay at least. I always pretend I'm an early go to bedder and go and feast upstairs watching netflix with my earphones. Small kids means the tired excuse works... and of course it's DPs family so he can stay up entertaining them!

MulticolourMophead · 17/06/2019 13:52

I recently discovered that 19 year old DD has a drawer of goodies in her room. I think I'll follow suit, and schedule a few "early nights".

GloGirl · 17/06/2019 16:05

I love that Friends episode! Completely forgot all about it.

Think I am going to create a little "In case of Visitors" box. Perhaps with a little tin of Mojito that M&S have started doing as well Grin

@LakieLady - can you stash a set of chocolate bars in a box of tampons or pads?!

OP posts:
NearlySchoolTimeAgain · 17/06/2019 17:50

Maybe some mini bottles of Prosecco?

BlythesEyes · 17/06/2019 23:52

Friday till Monday (because the roads are too busy at the weekend) Hmm
Means I get no respite at all and have to entertain on my Friday afternoon and Monday days off by myself.
Sunday is DH Birthday so they'll probably expect a meal out. .. I dread the visits so a stash of my fave sweets will help ..

MulticolourMophead · 18/06/2019 13:01

OP, Aldi has started doing cans of a couple of types of cocktails and also wine.....

BlueMerchant · 18/06/2019 13:09

For years I've kept a secret stash in my bedside cabinet ( not the same stash Grin). Every night I take pick from either Malteasers, fudge or mint aero. After Christmas, boxes of sweets somehow make there way up there too. I hide the wrappers under the bed until the next morning when I dispose of them discretely.

Mamalicious16 · 18/06/2019 13:13

This post hasn't got the feature to vote yes or no for AIBU? So I'll tell you UANBU!! ( In fact I may be a teensy bit jealous!). Fab idea to hide chocolate in bras!

GloGirl · 18/06/2019 20:18

Shock just seen the amazing buttons! None needed for this post, I am definitely NBU Halo
